Laptop hanging off

If your laptop is hanging while you are working, press this combination keys:
Ctrl Alt Del.
If you are using windows XP, it should automatically take you to task manager.
But if you are using windows vista or windows 7, it would show you options, of which you are to select 'task manager'.
End the tasks the are not responding by right clickin it and selecting 'end task'.
If that task still refuses to end, still in the task master pane, go to 'processes'.
Select the processs running the nonresponsive task. Eg, if internet explorer is the non responsive task, the process would be 'explorer.exe'.
End that process.

If it stil doesnt work, then select 'end all processes', and restart the system.
Hope this was helpful?
Success.

I brought up a site and now it wont close when i tell it to it just comes up with a mesege saying "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? PRESS ESCAPE OR CLOSE THIS ALERT" how can i...

This is one of those trick sites that is quite amusing as it's effect is like that of a virus. But actually it is not. All you have to do is to force shut down your PC and restart. Also, you may try to close the browser by pressing CTRL+ALT+Del that will bring up your Task Manager. From the Applications Tab, you may choose the browser then hit End Task.

My HPC309 has worked great until today, now it will not print. On the computer it says printing, but it is not. have tried turning everything on and off, reinstalling software etc

Check for 'Printing Queue' in your P.C. and stop/delete the Queue. You may have to check 'Task Manager', press Ctrl+Alt+Delete together and select 'Start Task Manager'. Now select 'Applications' and 'End Task' the Print Queue if it is showing in the list. Restart the P.C. hopefully this will help.

I went to rip a dvd-r onto pc n' now my Windows Media is stuck in "d" Drive". I' can't get back to "c" drive in order to download music videos, etc.

Press ctr+alt+delete to open the Task Manager. In the Task Manager window, click on the applications tab then select each application and click on the "End task" button. Perform this step for all the applications listed in the Task Manager window.
Then, restart the Computer and make sure that no other applications are running. Now, open Windows Media Player to proceed with the riping procedure.

Problem getting netzero download to download computer says need to close i need to close explorer browser sites but none are open

Please note that I am using Windows XP so Vista may be slightly different but mostly similar.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the "Task Manager". Click "Processes" tab and check the box next to "Show processes from all users". Look for the file name of the web browser you are using and here are two common web browsers.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - iexplorer.exe (If you close explorer.exe by mistake, Windows XP users can go to "Applications", "New Task", and type in "C:/WINDOWS/explorer.exe" or Vista users can simply log out and log in through the task manager.)
Mozilla Firefox - firefox.exe

If you use a different web browser, right click the shortcut for your web browser and click "Properties". The file name will be after the last slash ( \ ) in the target box. File names usually end with ".exe".

Click the file name when you find it and click "End Process" but before you do, you are most likely viewing this with a web browser so this window (and all other windows for your web browser) will close as soon you end the proccess. This means make sure you finish what you are doing and be ready for it to close.
