Question about Mitsubishi MS12TN Air Conditioner

Open Question

I have a Mitsubishi split air conditioner; Model number: MSH-18NA. When I turn the air conditioner on with the remote control, sometimes it works normally, sometimes it doesn't. When it is not working properly, sometimes the fan turns continuously and sometimes it doesn't. No matter whether the fan is working or not, no cold air comes out. The green operation light is blinks and the indicator light is off. It looks like the outdoor unit is not working because the outdoor fan is not moving. What would be causing this problem? Is it possible to have someone fix it? And how much would it cost to get it fixed?

SOURCE: not working probly two flashs then pause

The two flashes are telling you what's wrong with the unit. Take the cover off of the unit inside(evaporator) and there should be a guide on the panel with the wiring diagram. On this diagram there should also be a solution to what each blink means. One blink means this, two blinks mean that, etc... Hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: outside unit fan not turning no cold air inside.

Ok here we go. It is possible that the capacitor for that fan unit is out or the motor for that unit is out. Without the proper tools i.e. an electrical meter, there isn't really a way to test the unit. The remote should not have anything to do with the unit activating if the is a manual thermostat. I suggest checking to see if either the motor has gone bad or the capacitor has bit the dust. If you have the motor changed make sure to replace the capacitor

Good Luck on your repairs hope I helped you some\

Don't know a code for a universal remote, but you can order a new remote from an appliance parts supplier. If you have the model you posted under, the part number would be WJ26X10152 . (about $25) Make sure you have your exact model number from the model / serial number tag off the product to make sure you get the correct remote.

Have you tried calling the manufacturer at 800-332-2119 to get a new remote yet? If they don't have one, then a supplier should and I can get a number or website for you but Mitsubishi should have one.
