Also a sign of a dirty nail gun, and if it isn't an oil less gun, proper lubrication hasn't been applied regularly. (Air hose unattached, gun air inlet up, apply 7 drops of oil daily, squeeze the trigger in to let the oil circulate through gravity to the working parts)

This is usually a sign that there is an air leak. Check the link below for directions to a site with both parts and diagrams. That should be helpful in replacing the O-rings. This is relatively common and a normal wear and tear condition.

I need stainless nails for Makita AF505 nail gun

Your nailer uses 18 guage straight nails, from 5/8" to 2" long. As long as you meet these requirements it doesn't matter if they are basic bright, galvanized or staniless nails. If you Google or Bing search "18 guage stainless steel nails" you will find several mail order places that carry the nails you need. Not very many places carry stainless steel nails in stock because of their cost. Unless you live in an area where their use is predominant you will have to order them.

Hitachi roofing nailer shoots every other nail & doesn't sink the nails it shoots

i think you have two different problems , replace the feeder spring, and replace the oring on the driver piston. also make sure that the coil of nails is perfectly round if they are dropped or squeezed tool will not work right

I bought a Husky HFR 2190 Full head Framing Nailer and I need a owners manual.

Hi David,
I have searched for this this manual and this is what I have come up with.
Campbell Hausfeld own the Husky brand.
This link is for an IFN2190 which may be the HFR2190 rebranded as "Iron Force". The specific HFR2190 manual doesn't appear to be available.

http://powertool.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/campbell_hausfeld/ifn2190.html?idRes=1235852

If it doesn't suit your nailer you can cancel the $12 fee

Hope this helps.

The nail sets to deep is there an adjustment or is the bumper worn out

Hi dfreerugs,

Welcome to fixya!

Where do you have the pressure set at on your compressor? The range for this nailer is 70 to 90psi. Try lowering the pressure until the nails drive to the depth you want.

If the gun is well-used and lowering the pressure doesn't do it, you might need a new pressure regulator in the gun.

You can download a user manual at Amazon.com at this address: http://www.amazon.com/Bostitch-MIIIFN-2-Inch-Pneumatic-Flooring/dp/B0000302TH

Scroll down to the "Product details" section and click on "Product manual".

Good luck.

Please place a vote when you accept this solution. Thanks,

My nail gun doesn't seem to want to work at all. I followed all dirctions for preparing it and breaking in the compressor but the gun doesn't do anything.

Assuming no air leaks. The headvalve of this nailer tends to stick in the head due to tight fitting orings. Remove the head and press in the headvalve with your thumbs. If stuck, apply air pressure to vent hole on the machined edge of the cap and lube the orings with silicone paste lube (sold at Lowes in the plumbing department). If silicone paste is not available, use nailer oil and re-install valve/head for test.

could be a jammed nail in the magazine nose area, bent driver blade or problem with the o ring being worn.

My nailer doesn't have the power it used to. the nail needs a tap with a hammer every 3rd blow or so.

If it is a nailing hammer for a roofing project, I have used a degreaser to spray the end. Even on my air nailers that I use 16d nails in I do this. Make sure you keep 3 drops of the (FOR THE NAILER) IN IT'S RECEIVING END EVERY DAY! This will keep the inside good and slick.

Nailer drives one nail but driver pin doesn,t retract back into nailer head

Remove the air hose and open the nailer head section. Look for a foreign object in this are that could be jamming the drive pin. Also, make sure you are using the right size nails.
