How do I pull a figure from a spread sheet and add it to another in the same file.....

Are you talking about different worksheets in the same file.
go to the other worksheet then go to the particular cell and press = on keyboard
then use mouse to select the other worksheet from the bottom of the spreadsheet .
Then click on the cell you wish to link and press enter key on keyboard.

You can also do this to spreadsheets with different file names by opening both spread sheets in different windows and switching between the windows.

you can also copy just the data by copy whole sheet (click on the square in top left hand and copy and then right click paste special on new worksheet - with values only rather than the original formulas from the spreadsheet

How do you copy and paste one excel spreadsheet to another making sure the headers are lined up correctly.

right-click the sheet you want to copy, select "copy to", then either select the position within the current document, select annother document (needs to be open in the same excel instance) or select "new document". check the box "copy" to copy, leave unchecked to move.

When i open an excel spreadsheet, the columns go right to left instead of left to right.

  1. Click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the International tab.
  2. Do one of the following in the Right-to-left option group.
    • Click Right-To-Left to have new objects displayed in a direction familiar to right-to-left users.
    • Click Left-To-Right to have new objects displayed in a direction familiar to left-to-right users.

Release the scroll key

    • 1 Open and power on the laptop.
    • 2 Wait for the laptop to fully boot.
    • 3 Locate the "Scroll" button at the top-left of the keyboard. It is under the volume panel and between the "F12" and "Pause" keys.
    • 4 Press the "Scroll" button.
    • 5 Test it by opening a spreadsheet and using the arrow keys to move around on it. You can open your Microsoft Excel program or create a spreadsheet online by using Google Docs (free online productivity software). The "Scroll Lock" function will keep the current cell selected while the screen moves.
    • 6 Press "Scroll Lock" again to turn it off.

Printer "out of memory"

The problem isn't your printer. The problem is with your Microsoft Works software. I know of six solutions that may work.

1) Download the latest service pack for .NET Framework 1.1. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A8F5654F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en

2) Go to this website and download the update. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=65f5b806-e6a1-4f92-a656-e56eeda67e3d&displaylang=en

3) Uninstall printer completely (again). Unplug the printer from the computer. Reboot computer. Download the lastest driver from HP website. When installing the driver software, choose (type)a different directory,( ie. C:\MYHP\HP4180\ ). Plug Printer back to computer.

4) Go to this website. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841220

5) Click START, click RUN, type SPOOL. Double click printer folder, clear (delete) any files in this folder.

6) Download the latest version of Microsoft Works 9.0.

Let me know if this works.

Consolidate few sheets under 1 excel

What version of Excel are you working with. Newer versions allow you to have multiple spreadsheets grouped together into what is called a, "Workbook." To view the sheets separately, you simply click on the tabs at the bottom of the workbook. The easiest way I know of to join spreadsheets together into a single workbook is to open all of them at the same time, then choose, "View / Arrange All," and they'll be small, but you can grab each one by its tab and drag it to the workbook you want them in. Then you save the workbook (give it a new name like, "Accounting Roll-UP," or, "Consolidated Books," or whatever best describes it) making sure to close all the (now empty) spreadsheets without saving your changes to them (or else you'll lose your 'back-up' data). Voila! You open one file, and all your spreadsheets are available with the click of a mouse.
