Question about Televison & Video
The level of the sound volume is decided by the control processor thru a resistor grid. At maximum volume only the smallest, last resistor is used. If none of the others are engaged it means that the control processor is shorted, which would explain why you are no longer capable of starting the tv.
The control processor is solderer on the mainboard and can't be replaced on its own - you ill need to replace the entire mainboard. This is an expensive job, you must decide if the tv is still worth the at least $250 needed to do the job.
