What I use for laptop keys, is a super glue with a brush. This way, when you remove the plastic key and the retainer, you take the silicone membrane if it's not sticking in place and turn it around, brushing super glue on the round circle and sticking it back. Let it dry for a few seconds and then put the plastic key and the retainer back.
You can see a more detailed process here:

Make sure it is turned to the off position. Then if you can see it try using tweezers or something similar. If its too far in to use tweezers it's probably gonna need a locksmith, but maybe... If you put some superglue on the other piece and line it up perfectly it may be strong enough to pull it out but don't use too much glue or it may get inside the ignition. Just a very light coating on the end and hold it there for for a while. Hope u get it out! And let me know if you use the superglue and it works cause I'm very curious to know if it would lol.

How to put a key back on a dell inspiron m5030. I had a sticky key so I took it off to see why it was sticky and i cant get it back on.

Must keys will clip back into place, position the key over the area, now gently push down until you hear a click don't worry if key is fully pressed down, you may have push harder to get it in place.

The screen on my acer laptop has turned upside down.. How can i turn the screen around?

I know how inconvenient working on your laptop the image in it is upside down. But don't worry I will help you with this concern.

I have a video tutorial that will walk you through on how to correct it or fix it.

Just click the link VideoTutorial so that you will directed on the video tutorial page. Once you get there, please wait to load the video completely, it takes quite while.
But if you want a written walk through, not a problem I will provide that.

Laptops are very customizable. There is a very handy technique that has been a feature on laptops for many years but is still not widely known. It comes in handy for a lot of reasons. For anyone who wants to relax and watch a movie on their laptop or read an ebook, the ability to rotate their laptop's screen from vertical to horizontal makes these activities so much easier. This explanation applies to Windows Vista and Windows 7.

1. Hold down the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys and press the "Left Arrow" key. This will rotate your laptop screen view. Return to the standard screen orientation by holding down the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys together and pressing the "Up Arrow" key. If you were unable to rotate your screen with "Ctrl + Alt + Left," go to step 2.

2. Right-click on the laptop's desktop and select "Personalize."

3. Find the "See Also" menu on the left side of the screen and click "Display."

4. Click on "Change Display Settings" and choose "Orientation" from the drop-down menu.

5. Choose from "Landscape," "Portrait," "Landscape (Flipped)," and "Portrait (Flipped)" from the box that appears. "Landscape" is the standard view. "Portrait" changes the view to sideways, leaning to the left. "Landscape (Flipped)" shows a sideways view leaning to the right. "Portrait (Flipped)" turns the screen upside down.

6.Click "Apply" and then click "OK." Your screen orientation is set to whatever version you like.

Proceed to play jokes on your friends by flipping their computer screens when they are not looking, then tell them "That's not good, dude."

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

I have 1998 bmw 323 the rag top has a few small snags in it. No tears just small snags that I dont wanrt getting worse.

If you don't want to hand sew the top then cloth adhesive will work to keep loose end from unravaling further. depending on the fabric and color I like a very small amount of either goop, contact cement, or a very small amount of superglue. for best results make a small repair in a not to noticable place and let it completely dry. then see what it looks like. if you don't like it don't do that again. Sometimes with contact cement you can hand mold the loose pieces after the glue starts to dry. goop dries a little quicker so you need to work pretty quick. superglue is the hardest to work with but done carefully it will give you the longest lasting and least showing result. be extra carefull not to get the glue on anything and make very small repairs one at a time.

I used superglue to fix a broken fishing rod. It has broken again at the same spot and I want to remove the original superglue to replace it. I used a darning needle to put inside the fibreglass rod at the...

No, but there used to be a product for removing Superglue. If you find it ,post on your comments. I need some too. I thought it was Superglue Dissolver but did not find it on the Net.

I fixed my rod with a wooden dowel cut down to insert into the break. It worked, but I wondered about wrapping the shaft with the material used for replacing eyelets. That way there is strengthening on the outside of the rod too.

As one fisherman to another "Where are you finding fish big enough to break these rods?"

Hi, I have an Acer 5920 laptop and the right arrow key has come off. I have the key, and the 2 bits of plastic that act as a retaining clip how do the clips fit? I can see that one clips into the key at...

Do not use glue! These keyboard caps just press fit onto the keyboard. Line it up and push straight down. The arrow facing in the right direction should give you the right alignment. If the key does not stay on, you must replace the keyboard as it would be missing the attachment point that would keep it on the base. Without seeing it in person, it is hard to say. I am not sure I understand what you mean by the key is locked to the keyboard?

The enter key came off on my dell inspiron 8600

It should just pop right in. If something is broken then use a tiny, TINY drop of superglue to stick it back together. If even that fails you will have to replace the entire keyboard.

Ignition key wont go in all the way, ignition will still turn with just the tip or anything that can turn the cylinder. how do I get the old one out?

Dismount the ignition switch and knock it heavily on a hard surface with the key hole down.
You can also try with a needle with a drop of superglue on it to catch the broken key...

Otherwise, replace the ignition lock.

Key tip broke in switch

Assuming you have the other end of the key, carefully put a drop of fresh superglue on the end of it. Don't get sloppy with the glue. Quickly insert the key and hold it with a light pressure downward for 30 seconds. Release the pressure and just let it sit for five minutes. Push down on the key then pull the key out. This has worked well for me every time I have seen the problem.
