Hi, the F2 error code means that the oven is overheating for an unknown reason. F3 and F4 indicate a problem with the oven sensor, which usually requires replacing the sensor.

When I turn the GE oven on sometimes it works fine other times it will shut off. When it shuts off it will give the F2 or F3 error sign. Can you please tell me what this means? Thanks

Hi, the F2 Error code means the oven has detected an excess temperature condition. Most often this is due to a bad temperature sensor - the sensor costs about $75 from an online repair site.
The "F3" error code means the oven sensor is open, I suggest you flip breaker off then back, on Re check for error, if OK fine if not turn back off and fix or call for service man...

GE oven error code f2 is displayed

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2 in your oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

I have a GE Range. Purchased in 1993. The user guide says it is for JSP26GP, JSP28GP, JSP31GP. The thing won't quit beeping and the function code displayed if F1. What should I do? Thanks!

The F1 error code means your oven temperature has exceeded 590 degrees and the beeping is to warn you to shut it off.

Itis likely that the oven thermostat has failed, so you will need to get it replaced.

F2 error code

Similar problem. When baking over 400 degrees we get the F2 code that can only be reset by cycling the power at the breaker. Replaced the electonics to no avail. I'm thinking its the cooling fan located between the oven and microwave (upper unit) it never comes on which may cause a separate temp switch to generate the F2... but I'm not a pro. :)
