I just recently picked up a Denon DRA-685 receiver that was stuck in protection mode. I found a site online that suggested it was due to two bad resistors on the main circuit board. More specifically resistor R-105 and R-106. They are both 1 ohm x 1 watt resistors. I ordered these from a supplier on Amazon for a few dollars, and just snipped the old resistors off, leaving the soldered leads sticking out. I then thinned the new leads and soldered them to the protruding wires, so I didn't have to remove everything. The unit now works like new. I'm happy I spent the time doing this, and grateful to the tech who discovered the common problem with this unit. Hope this can help somebody else. H

AVR X1000 going in protect mode?

If you used it for only 3-4 hours before the problem occurred then you should have a replacement warranty on the product.
I think you have already done the factory reset procedure shown on page 175 of the user manual.
Is it possible to take it to the place you purchased it from. Alternatively check the Denon website and find out who the closest agent is in your locality. Send it back with proof of purchase using a courier service that you can track for receipt. Hope it turns out well.

Denon avr2312ci shuts off and blinks red

Yes that is why. The receiver is protecting itself from an un-stable load impedance which causes current/voltage spikes through the final amplifier components and proportionally through the input where the protection relay is (click),. Do not continue using the amp until you have repaired or replaced the blown speakers. A rule of thumb is to maintain 8 ohms on each speaker wire plugged into the amp. Keep that in mind or eventually you will damage it.

How do i reset my Denon udra m1o tuner amp from protect mode?

Protect mode can not be "reset". This mode means that a problem was detected in the final amp stage and the unit has been shutdown to prevent further damage. The most common cause of this is failed output transistors. Plan on a parts cost in the $20-$20 range for this repair.

Denon AVR-1100 receiver "PROTECT" mode

replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. i had the exact same problem with mine and once i replaced the capacitors it powered up and stayed on and worked perfect.
these capacitors tend to fail as they're of poor quality.
this fault is very common on denon receivers, especially the later models.

hope this helps?

Unit is in protect mode there are a few problems that can trigger protect mode the most common is blown channel (shorted outputs). Sometimes one of the 15v regulators may go bad causing imbalance of supplys triggering protect mode. Also sometimes a bad solder connection could cause unit to go into protect also. I work for Denon authorzied repair center in Michigan if your nearby and Shipping to Michigan is economical let me know kstahl65@att.net
