You may not be getting gas to the pilot, could be the regulator if the heater isn't new, could also be a blockage in the pilot orifice, the orifice is very, very small on these heaters.

When I try to start my mr. Heater I hold the pilot button down and the starter knob won't do anything? I can't get it to light the pilot, I've only had it a month.

Gas is turned on? Pilot button is in pilot position? Push and hold pilot button down, keep holding it down, push igniter many times, while keep holding down pilot button, keep holding until pilot lights. May take several minutes.

Turn on pilot

there should be a flap or removable tray on bottom of boiler, under this you will find a large button, push in and hold press the igniter button a few times until pilot can be viewed through window. continue to hold it in for 12 sec and release slowly checking pilot is still alight. there may even be instructions on flap or tray.

We have a fairly new heater. went to turn on the pilot light and it won't ignite. what do you think is wrong? gas has been turned on before igniting

Sometimes it takes a few seconds for gas to reach the pilot. When you place the thermostat knob/gas control in the pilot position you must then depress it (push it down and hold it down). Wait a few seconds while holding it down, then press the ignitor button with your other hand while continuing to keep the thermostat knob depressed. You may have to hold the knob down and press the ignitor several times. You should see a spark at the pilot if the ignitor is working properly. Continue to hold the knob down for 30 seconds after the pilot lights, then release the knob, it will pop up & you can then rotate it to lo/med/hi and the heater will come on.,

Re Williams 3003622 Heater Please advise how to ignite pilot light.

You will first need to turn the control knob to pilot. Then depress the control knob button and hold it. Then press the push button piezo igniter several times until pilot lights or open pilot inspection cover and manually light pilot with match/lighter. You may need to hold the control knob for at least a minute. Then release the control knob and if the pilot stays lit then turn the control knob to on. If it does not light then repeat the process again.

Pilot light gone out. How do I relight? Which

In general, large button from gas valve push in & hold 20-30 secs at same time push electronic lighter/ignition button to light pilot. Remember to hold in only gas button. the pilot light heats up a thermo couple [u can see this in the flame] and when hot enough allows the main gas through and the pilot to remain on.
If not then either thermo couple not heated for long enough or
it may need replacing

Bosch water wizard 600 pilot light out

First check your gas supply, gas in bottle or lines? I know, this is basic & I'm not having a shot at you, but you'd be surprised at how many times it gets overlooked.

If you do still have gas supply, evident by that low hiss when you hold the pilot feeder button in (you might have to lean in close to hear it), then you need to check that the piezo is working. This is the bit which produces the spark to ignite your pilot. You will be able to see it sparking at the pilot outlet when you push the button (if you're looking in the right spot).

Ok, you have gas & a working spark? Not sure which buttons to press?

You mentioned the manual no longer being in a helpful condition...do you know which of the 4 buttons, 2 taps, 1 slide control & 1 dial do what?
Well just in case, here we go in simple form... first button on the left is the pilot feeder (lets gas through the pilot), second button from the left is the 'ON' button, third from left is the 'OFF' button & the fourth from the left is the piezo ignite button (gives you that much needed spark!). The slide controls your flame (how much gas gets fed to it). The dial, below the pushbuttons & slide, controls how much water flows through the system which then helps regulate the heat. Make sure the taps on your gas & water lines to the unit are on. There you go...2 taps = gas & water supply, 4 buttons = pilot gas, on, off, piezo (spark), 1 slider = gas/flame control, 1 dial = water flow control.

Ok let's see if we can light it! Water & gas supply turned on, slider set about 25% from left, dial set roughly in the middle, push in button 1 (1st from left) & hold in for about 10 seconds, you should hear a very faint hiss from pilot area. Yes? OK, keep holding button 1 in & press & release button 4 several times until pilot lights, you may not see a difference but if you can't see it and it does light you will hear the faint hiss change to a soft fluttering sound as the flame consumes the gas. Still OK? if so then the next step is to push in button 2 quite firmly & then release button1 as well. If all works as planned you will shortly have hot water supply restored.

If the above has not worked then your hot water service may just need a service to clean everything up & maybe replace a few worn or excessively corroded parts. Otherwise ,if there are no blockages in supply lines etc, then it may be time to replace it.

You neglected to say how long you've had it.

Cheers, hope this has helped.

Pilot light

When you smell gas...is it all the time? If so, this is dangerous. If it only happens when you're trying to start the oven, no problem. Push the red button and hold it while lighting the pilot. Hold for 30 REAL seconds more. Release. The pilot should stay lit. If not, get a service tech.

Pilot light will not ignite on my bosch 10p water wizard system

This process is best performed at night so you can see the pilot light in action.

Important...*ensure all hot water taps are off*

1) press and hold pilot button (extreme left button)
2) press spark button (extreme right button) while holding in pilot button from step 1
3) with the pilot button still held in, observe the pilot light through the window. if there is no pilot light now, your heater is busted.
4) if you see the pilot light above, very quickly *completely* remove your finger from the pilot button while at the same time pressing in the flame button (second from left - this button will not work until you completely remove your finger form the pilot button so timing is important) - the pilot light should stay lit.
5) if it goes out or your timing is off, repeat these 4 steps until it lights.

This could take a number of tries and can be quite frustrating until you can get the timing of step 4 right. Good Luck!
