Dell latitude wont play mp4 video

Your problem might be missing codecs. A codec (compressor/decompressor) is used to 'decode' a video or sound. A video practically needs 2 codecs; a video codec and an audio codec.

To resolve your issue, try installing K-Lite Codec Pack Pro. This will ensure you to play all types of videos and music in your computer. Install the program without changing the settings if you don't know how to change them.

Also, I suggest you un-install any other Media Players that you have and leave Windows Media Player 11 (upgrade it to 11; it's free!), QuickTime and iTunes. Set Windows Media Player 11 as your default too so you can automatically play all the files you want with WMP11.
K-Lite Codec Pack! Download the latest PRO version/ It's FREE!

My laptop can not find CODEC to start a media player video

The problem is simply that your media player does not have the codec "driver" it needs to play that type of file. There are many codec packs available that you can install. A good site to find them is:

If you can determine which codec your file uses, just download and install the appropriate codec pack. If you are unsure what the codec is, you may want to install one of the Xvid packs. It's a very common codec which is normally not installed into players by default, so there's a good chance that's what it is. You can download it here.

Good luck!

No sound at all. Windows media player is failing to play files.

Do you have the correct audio codecs installed? I used to use media player, but you have to have codecs for everything. That is when I switched to the free KM player which is almost exactly like media player accept no codecs needed.

Windows media has sound no visual when playing

Your media player might be having problems getting the video feed from the USB. try copying the file to your local disk and play the movie from there.

My media player does open and play in my Sattelite M200 laptop

You need to install the codecs,
and dowload from there, use the codec packs (xp codec pack or vista codec pack) I used both on my 2 laptops and they work fine.
