No. The auto height adjustment has nothing to do with this. Sometimes on these units the belt will stretch even just due to normal use. It is recommended that you change the belt at least once a year. Twice a year if you are a pet lover.

Good luck

Roller stops working after just a few seconds

Haven't had this problem, but sounds like an obstruction of some kind. Turn the vacuum upside down and clean any lint, thread or hair around the roller and make sure there is nothing stuck in there that would impede the roller. I have a long haired dog and have to do this regularly.

HV9010P ROLLER BRUSH DOESN'T MOVE

That is probably the belt. Open up the bottom screws and take a look. The cat or dog hair usually gets stuck in the ends of the rollers and stops the belt from effectively pushing the roller. You may find that the belt is still on the drive and the roller. If you do just clean out the roller.

Most common cause is fibre / hair in the roller and brushes. remove base cover and remove fibres . Remove screws and use small scissors to cut along roller / brush then pull gently.

Roller turns but makes noise

When you set the roller back in place, you probably didn't get it set in the slots properly. May be raised up slightly on one side.

In the middle of vacuuming the other day,the vacuum just stopped

check another outlet.turn the switch on and off real fast if it comes on the switch is bag.unplug it then reach under the base and turn the brush roller by hand a few times then plug it back in and try again.wiggle the cord around because you might have a bad cord.if none of that works i would take it to a orek repair shop.if the motor starts after you turned the brush roller then either the motor is bad or you have built up some corrosion on the motor armature.the brushes could be bad on the mot.please leave some feedback.i hope i was some help toyou i wish i could have done more.thank you.for giving me the opportunity...pete

Burning smell when vacuuming, not belt

Try turning the vacuum on and hold the base up so you can see if the roller is turning. Odds are it is not and what you smell is the belt burning (not literally). If the roller is not turning, look for anything that is binding it - after you have unplugged the power cord. Probably the roller head is not fully aligned with the retention lugs that hold it in place or the belt is not properly placed on the roller itself, or if it is a used model, hair and twine can get tangled in the roller and cause it to stop turning.

Vaccum stops cleaning after a while it shuts off

Sounds like the motor is overheating and thermalling out (Hight Temp shut down). This could be caused by overfilled cannister, obstructed passageways, or debris accumulated around the motors cooling fan. Try emptying the catch container and blow out / clean all the filters. Check for obtructions by going to the hose mode and alternately blocking and uncovering the nozzle end - feel for good suction and listen for a definite change in motor sound (Pitch Change) With the intake open, the motor should rev freely, when blocked it will slow and sound labored / loaded down. Another possible cause could be a binding brush roller overloading the motor - but this will usually burn out the belt first. Notice any unusual smells? Burned belts stink like burnt rubber.
