Question about Garden

1 Answer

My Cub Cadet 1554 will not start. The battery is strong and when I connect it directly to the starter the starter turns over. Could this be a solenoid problem. Where is the solenoid on this model?

Follow the red or positive battery cable from battery. It will lead too the solenoid. It will be a little black box with wires running to it.

My cub cadet CC30 do not start, it is new, the battery is fully charged, when i try to start do not make a sound ,looks like the power does not go to the start

Battery connection good, starter connection, ignition switch ok?
Also check the safety switch on the bar that you hold while running unit. If that switch is not working, neither will the mower.

Go direct from the battery to the starter motor - if it runs then the in between circuitry is bogus.

I have a z force s cub cadet. The battery is good. Tested and passed. the engine/started must work hard to turn over, but still won't catch. I will jump the tractor and it will start and run.

You may want to try to find a battery with a stronger amperage rating. Even if the battery passes if it is borderline for starting it new it may not be strong enough even if it's still okay for it's battery type.

Other causes:
A worn starter can cause this issue. If a few of the coils shorted the starter will work but require much more current to do the job

A bad relay/solenoid to the starter that doesn't allow enough current to go through can cause this.

Valves out of adjustment... especially on some Briggs and Stratton engines, it's a known issue that if the valves need adjustment the motor can require a lot of energy to turn over and can cause constant hard starts.

CubCadet 1554 - won't start!

If you hear the PTO click when you turn the ignition on, sounds like the PTO button is pulled out like you were engaging the blades. The engine will not start if the PTO button is pulled out....
