USB uses the standard terminals- however I would recommend getting your phone serviced/replaced by the carrier. If the USB controller has failed, that could be a sign that there are more components failing- NEVER a good sign. Also, the phone should be able to sync with a PC- if it does not have that capability- you will not be able to reflash the phone- again even more argument to go to your carrier. All phones have warranty for component failure- you can likely get a replacement at no charge.
