Before you format the drive and reinstall your OS, try running a disk defragmenting programme. There are free versions and expensive versions to choose from. If you do not run a defragmenting programme regularly, it will slow down.
If you wish to wipe your laptop, back up anything you need first. Place your system disk in the DVD drive and boot from the disk choosing "New System" when prompted.
This will wipe your old files and OS completely replacing it with just an operating system. You will need to reinstall drivers and any programmes, office etc, when you have finished.
Time consuming but worthwhile for a clean system.

My nabi dreamtab wont reset why?

There are two types of resets that you can perform on nabi - forced reboot and factory reset. In the unlikely event that your nabi becomes unresponsive, you can easily perform a forced reboot. A factory reset is recommended when slow performance persists or if you want to wipe out all of your personal data and settings from nabi. Forced Reboot: To perform a forced reboot, hold the Power Button down until nabi turns off. When nabi is off, press the Power Button to turn on nabi again. Factory Reset: Caution! A factory reset is a very serious process because it will SYSTEMATICALLY WIPE ALL USER DATA from nabi. A factory reset will return nabi to its original factory settings. To perform a factory reset from Mommy/Daddy Mode, tap All Apps > Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset tablet > Erase everything. Please note: We highly recommend backing up your nabi prior to performing a factory reset. You can back up your music, videos, photos and apps with nabi™ Sync.

My lap was very slow so I used my recovery cd but no. 1cd had a scratch that I didn't notice it wiped it out but wouldn't reboot what do I do ?

Contact the manufacturer and order boot disks from them. That or you have a chance to start fresh and put your own OS on your computer now. You've wiped your hard drive though and likely wiped everything all together. You could take it in to be checked and maybe your personal date could be salvaged, but these services typically aren't cheap. Good luck

I want to wipe my laptp and restart with my Window 7 disc

You don't need anything special, just insert the Genuine MS Win7 CD-Rom and have the key code handy. Reboot your PC or laptop and choose a clean install. It will erase everything on your HDD.

Low level format from the bios or depending on your laptop, by pressing one of the F keys will go into recovery mode. This will wipe everything and reinstall everything.
Hope this helps

If you are looking to wipe out everything, you can simply reinstall an operating system on it and choose to repartition and format the drive during the installation process.

Will rebooting my pc end up in the hard disc drive being wiped.

not really. if you do too many hard resets on the computer it could eventually lead to hard drive failure because the seek heads are not parked before the drive is shut down. however, a few times here and there are definitely not going to wipe a hard drive.
