Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1: Windows
I guess the problem is that all images are getting compressed and you need to mention that i should not say that this is a virus issue and not suggest you to update your antivirus.
I will certainly don't.
Coming to the point.
Do you want to know the problem ?
there are faulty settings in your compression utility. like winzip or winrar or whichever you us What has happened is you have mistakenly .bmp format to faviorates to manage it with winzip or winrar.that's why is has converted all and continues to do so .it is not a virus issue just a problem with compression utility.
To handle this just repair your winzip from control pannel. or uninstall and again reinstall.
another conflicting applicatin for this case is microsoft outlook
When you install Outlook 2003, you haver been asked if you wanted to enable the automatic compression of attachments using ZIP format. you should to disable this now
if you can't just re-ingtall or repair outlook .
Hope this helps.

In Windows there is a setting that tells it to compress the files that are rarely accessed to save space on the hard drive. You can turn it off if you want that.
First you need to decompress them: move all the compressed photos to a different location - ideally in a different hard drive. Select them all and right click, click Properties, under the General tab, click on the Advanced button, uncheck Compress contents to save disk space and click on OK all the way out - the files will be uncompressed. Leave the files there - if necessary make your own Photos folder - and never use the My Documents and all the other folders from there.
To permanently disable the NTFS compression go to this site
and download and run the small file.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
