Question about Aiptek A-HD 720P Flash Media Camcorder

Sound doesn't transfer from camera into computer

My 13 yo daughter is having trouble with her AIPTEK HD camera. She can hear sound when she records when it is played back from the camera, but when she loads the file into the computer (She uses VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 8.0), there is video, but no audio (the audio track is flat). I am not too computer saavy and trying to help her.... We think it might have something to do with the .MOV designation, but are having trouble trying to get the file to save as anything else. (like .mp3)... Are we on the right track, or is it something else?

It most likely IS the .mov file. I recommend buying quicktime pro, $20,  which will allow you to convert the file, or if you get the free version of quicktime, and the video and audio play fine with it, You can use a screen recorder and turn off the "record external Mic" mode, and turn ON "Record Computer Audio" Once you're done converting (or recording) You can go ahead and edit, Hoped this helped- sincerely: animation508 (youtub username)

What if I don't have the disk

Shouldn't be needed. The camera records to a flash card. Just get a flash card reader and transfer/view files that way.

Try connecting with a USB cable. Most newer computers and operating systems will detect the camera without the manufacturers disk.

Deleting files on HD720p Aiptek camcorder

You are not doing anything wrong. For some reason, Aiptek doesn't give you this option on the camera. You have to insert you SD card into a reader and delete it that way. Ya, I know, doesn't make sense. Also, a feature I hate is it does place your videos into one continuous file. Only video clips, so each time you stop then start recording, it creates a new file. Anyway, I've had my Aiptek since 10/2008 and no problems so far. Great indoor videos. Not too crazy about the still pictures though.

My Aiptek keeps coming on then shutting off! It's brand new, I've tried taking the battery out but it still does the same thing

Mine does this if the battery is not charged. Make sure the battery is installed with the contacts lined up (my daughter is a pro at putting the battery in upside down, and it doesn't connect to anything that way!) and charge it up overnight.

If it's still giving you trouble the next day, post back and we'll try something else.

Sony dcr-dvd105 no sound

Try this:
Play back a recently recorded scene through the viewing screen. Make sure any "mute" setting is turned off and turn the volume up. If you can hear the sound, the problem is not in the camera. Also, run through your menu's audio settings to make sure that they are set correctly.
If you can't hear any sound, repeat the process with an external mike attached. If this gives you sound, the camera's built in mike is defective. Time to hand it in for repair.
If you still can't hear any sound, something else is wrong with the camera. Again, send it in for repair.

Putting video files to hard drive

You should be able to transfer files to the hard drive. The camera will be assigned a letter in my computer. Divx software is good to convert them onto a disk and it's reasonably priced.

Aiptek - Video and sound is out of sync

Are you recording in High Def? When I tried that on mine the same thing happened. That definitely has to be played back on Hi Def TV and the computer probably isn't capable of handling that. Switch to DVD mode, or Web cam mode and you won't have a problem.
