Question about Philips CDR570 CD Recorder
The laser is either bad or has a dirty lens. Open the unit and inspect the lens - if it's dirty, clean carefully with a "Q" tip and alcohol. Turn the player on and see if it emits light from the lens and also observe it move up and down.
