Yesterday , this almost new TV is working just fine, today I turn it on and it begins to barely turn on, get a couple seconds of a dim picture, and then the TV turns itself off. What I've tried? Unplugged it and left it unplugged for an hr and then plugged back in, same result.

Something is wrong with the inverters - the board that powers the CCFL tubes, the ones that generate the light for the screen.
Since this is a new tv it's most surely still in the warranty period. If you open it and try to fix it yourself you will lose the warranty. Take it back from where you bought it and let them fix it for you for free, that's what the warranty is for.

If it is refurbished then you must look in its papers to see how long is the warranty period - if it's still in it then you must take it to an authorized repair shop and they will repair it for free . If it's out of warranty then it will cost you around $150 to replace the inverter board. Find the cheapest local repair shop and take your tv to it.

Hello,

your TV is having a power problem. The power supply board is defective that's why the TV won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the TV because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might not come on.

If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.

Good luck.

Yamaha HTR-5063 is connected with new LG smart TV with HDMI. Today no picture or sound on TV. How to fix it ?

First, you need to identify which box the problem is in. Does the TV work with other inputs? If not, problem in TV. If it does, then the problem is in the Yamaha.
Once you know where the problem is, you can proceed to fixing what's broken.

Have thin line of picture on right side of screen, rest is blank. Sound is fine

Hi,

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Is it hooked up with HDMI cable?

If so try unplugging the HDMI cable and re plugging the cable in, sometimes those cables work loose and if they are not tight, it will cause your screen to flicker. Happens to my TV once in awhile.
