Try this link for step-by-step instructions. More than likely you will have to clean the drain pump as well.
If you are having trouble draining the water from the wash tub, and cannot get it to drain with a shop vac, you can drain it directly from the tub. If you don't own a shop vac, you may have to bail. If your drain pump does not have a clean out trap, remove the inlet and outlet hoses to access the inside of the drain pump. Inspect the pump impeller for obstructions and/or damage. If the water will not drain when you try to pull a vacuum on the drain line, you may have to disconnect the drain hose from the bottom of the wash tub. In some front loaders, there is a ball valve in the drain hose from the bottom of the wash tub to the drain pump. This ball can act as a collection pint from lint and debris. You will need to remove the hoses from the bottom of the wash tub to clean this area. I would recommend doing this as a LAST resort. Often, it can be difficult to reconnect this hose to the tub and get it to seal correctly. I hope this helps you. Please post back if you need further assistance.

The mixing valve is also know as a "fill valve" or "water inlet valve", just for clarification. I hope these steps help you with completing your repairs. If you get confused along the way, or require additional assistance, please let me know.

Hi, I got this exact Kenmore washer from Black Friday. They finally installed last week and the vibrations were way out of control! I looked around the machine and inspected the installation manual after spending hours leveling the thing and finally figured out that most likely cause is the foam shipping part at the bottom of the machine. I called Sears to come back out since I have a pedestal screwed on the bottom, trapping the foam. They came out and didn't think it was the issue. I asked them to take it out anyway, and sure enough it worked. For the first time my machine is working just the way it should...I wonder how many washers were installed this way?
Tip: To confirm that this is the problem, if you push down on the drum from the inside of the washer, you should be able to make the foam squeak...there's your problem!
