Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor Power light (switch) flickers but will not go solid green or orange. Other lights never com eon. For a while it looked like a switch going bad as I could get it to come on after a few tries. Now I would be happy leaving the thing on always if I can bypass switch.

That's not it. I have also used s-video, HDMI, and composite inputs. None work.

My desc says it all. Power light does not come on. No inputs work. All lights off. No chime plays when power button is pressed. The switch is bad.

Hello Sidneygrier, hi, you have no other choice but to have the switch replaced, this type of switch cannot be fixed to "on" position, its a push button normally open switch. When pressed makes contact and goes to "no contact" when released. My advice is have this checked by a your dealer or service personnel, no amount of what you do will make the repair. the switch is to sensitive to heat if you ever tinker with it, you may damage the Tv much further.

Hello again sir, can you make your inquiry clear.... so the switch is not the problem, now you have source input problems, did you use a good cable for your inputs, if all cables are good, then you have a main circuit board problem, Particularly what switch are you pressing? Power switch, input selector switch, setup switch. please give us a much detailed description.

yes the power board is in need of repairs. when the power board is not delivering power for the switch to operate. once the board is repaired the switch will work as before.

Hi! One reason why the light won't go solid green is that the monitor cable is a little loose. If its loosen you will need to tighten it up by securing the monitor and pc connector. Please do perform the procedure and see how it goes. Hope this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

This is a common problem with many LCD monitors. The
printed circuit board that provides a stable voltage for the monitor to operate
from starts to fail. The PCB can be replaced, when/if they are available, or repaired
in most cases at a much lower cost. for more information on this email me at

My FPD2275W LCD Monitor will only lit up solid white light. I have turned it off, unplugged it and everything else I can think of. It didn't how any signs of a problem yesterday, just all the sudden today...

Solid white meas the T-CON board is not getting the signals or 5vdc feeding it from the logic board or it has blown fuse.
Check all the caps in the power supply and on the logic board first, be warning, this case is real hard to open and MUST BE REAL CAREFULE WHEN SEPARATING THE FRONT BEZEL FOR THE BACK CASE!

It sounds to me like your computer is not sending a signal to the monitor. If you switch monitors (borrow one if you don't have one) and the results are the same, I would look for the problem in your computer. Assuming you never see anything on the monitor when starting up the computer, the video card is suspect.
Of course, you need to check the cable connections and see if the video card (if an add-on card) is tight in the slot in the motherboard.

I have a Gateway HD Monitor Model 2100. The screen flickers and turns off. I can cycles the on.off button and it comes back on, only to flicker and turn off later.

Either you have a problem with the back light or inverter.
When you disconnect the unit from its signal connection, you should see no signal input message.
If the unit flickers and then go out, while disconnected, you can rule out the video card and assume it is the back lights or inverter.
90% of the time, it is the back lights.

No video on my Gateway fpd2275w Monitor

First things first a quick check list:
1 Make sure monitor plugged in.
2 Turn on monitor. If there are words and instructions displayed then there is power in monitor. Green light for power next to buttons, etc. If there is no warnings or alerts on the screen. Then we have a power issue to the monitor. Or your back light has gone out preventing you from seeing welcome screen alerts etc.
3. If there is welcome screen alerts etc. then check your plug to the PC. If its connected, then your settings on your PC for the monitor are not configured. If you have two of the same plugs on your computer for the monitor. switch them and roobot. Let me knows how this worked out. Thanks.
