Question about Oster ODF520 Fry Right Deep Fryer

Open Question

Does the oil pot come out of the deepfryer I want to change the oil but I can't get the pot out to empty it. I can't find a picture that looks exactly like mine and I can't find a model number on it anywhere. Is there any other way to contact me, my email address isn't set up yet?

I'v just brought a Crofton Mini Deep Fat Fryer. When emptying the old oil the manual says pour from the lip which i think i found at the back left corner would i need to remove the lid to this.

The manual says "Empty the oil out of the pot using the pouring lid" I must say that I dont think the manual is very good. I had a problem assembling the handle to the basket so phoned their helpline free on 0800 328 6063. The lady was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly.

Why does my faberware deepfryer say not to use peanut oil in it

The page says as a general rule, choose oils with a high smoke point and avoid flavored oils, peanut oil adds a nutty flavor to food olive oil has a low smoke point lard and walnut oil not sure. To me looks like a recommendation a foolish one but that's all they are stating honestly think vegitabkd oil is way to over powering and makes fried foods taste bad

How do I stop the oily residue in my brewd cup of coffee? The coffee maker is new. The residue is not from our filtered water.

Thoroughly wash the pot and the basket with a good oil/grease remover (detergent) such as DAWN dishwashing liquid.

Then run White Vineger/Water (50/50) mix through the coffee maker TWICE, with the basket and pot in place. (NO coffee, nothing in the basket)

DO NOT RUN any detergent or soap through the coffeemaker at any time.

Then, run straight water through the coffee maker TWICE (no coffee, basket empty)

Then wash the pot and basket out AGAIN with a good detergent.

This will remove any residue that is in the coffeeemaker from the factory.

As coffee brews, there IS a slight amount of oil that is produced. The coffee itself has oils in it, and is part of its flavor, and freshly brewed coffee will have a slight oil residue.

When I pour water into (empty) pot to fill. Bunn coffee maker

If you pour water into the machine, and water comes out, then the reservoir is full of water. There is no way the water can bypass the reservoir and go directly into the pot.

Hello

If your speedometer is showing a "Red Pot" that looks somewhat like a tea pot, This is you oil pressure warning light. Check your oil level and check the flow of the oil back to the oil tank.

Cooking Pot Return Problems

I use an old heavy 3-quart alumnium sauce pan with a loose-fitting lid, canola oil, and high heat with about 1/2-cup of standard grocery-store yellow popcorn. I get the empty pot nice and hot, add the oil, then the corn, then the pot lid. I shake it occasionally, but basically let it go until the lid starts to rise off the pot, and I don't hear any more pops. Pour it into a large bowl, toss it with very fine sea salt, and go to town! It's also fantastic made with bacon fat, but you need to use slightly lower heat to keep it from burning and prepare for visitors: The smell of popcorn and bacon fat draws crowds.
