I have a FE-46, my problem is that the pictures are NOT crisp. I've read the manual, done several steps/set-ups and still the pictures are not crisp. Any help is very much appreciated.

Yes, the view window looks clear and crisp, the picture does not when uploaded to the pc. I've taken several pictures, example: I shot a pitures of flowers focusing on one flower in the middle of the group. My hopes were that if the focus was off I would at least see a flower clear/crisp looking surrounding the flower I had flocused in on. Nothing, all were not crisp.

I have an Olympus FE ? 46 digital camera, the pictures taken are not crisp. The camera was purchased new and has only been used a total of about 5 hours. In testing it, I have taken pictures of a group of flowers focusing on the center flower in hopes that the forefront or rear flowers would be crisp. No such luck.

Yes/NO, it didn't fix my problem but I expected this to be a solution (to just buy another camera). However, of the two solutions provided, this one was more informative and I felt he knew more what he was talking about than the first person who contacted me. I'll use this service again. Thank you.

I assume you've got your pixel resolution set where you want it. If that's the case, if you've noticed a degeneration of picture focus quality, you could be having problems with the focusing ring inside the lens assembly. Lint, dirt, dust, or sand can work it's way inside and jam the normally free-wheeling circular lens, controlled by small electrimagnets connected to the main board. You can try spraying some compressed air into the lens assembly, in the hope of freeing it up.
If that doesn't help, the unit will have to be serviced, since it will be a worn part issue or control board problem.
Take it in to a camera repair shop, and get an estimate, then take it from there.
Often, it's better to just buy a new one, since they're always coming down in price.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hi,

Sounds very much like you have a problem with the autofocus motor on the lens. Does the image on the back of the camera screen look good when you focus the camera just before taking a picture?

More than likely your set is fine and you need to provide it with a HD signal. Contact your cable or satellite provider for an upgrade

Picture pretty good but vertical lines (shadows) and ghosts

You're going to have to be more specific. When you are messing with the convergence settings, are all of the crosshairs straight lines? Are they crisp or fuzzy? Can you successfully move the Red and Blue crosshairs up/down/left/right? Have you opened up the TV yet? I'll help you from there once we get some details.
