Question about GE Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a GE top load washer model #WJRR4170GWW. When I attempted to change the load size from large to super, the knob broke and came off the control panel. Now there is just a hole on the control panel, with nothing to attach the knob to. Can I get a replacement knob & fix it myself, or do I need a repairman to take off the control panel & fix it. Thanks

I have a GE top - themobilian_130.jpgThe new part has a clip in it that holds it to the shaft of the timer. Installing it is so easy. Just slip the new knob on the shaft of the timer. IF the shaft is still on the timer. Did you mean the shaft came out of the timer? In that case you would need a new timer.

WHY IS WATER LEVEL LOW CAN I CHANGE THE SETTING ON WATER

there should be a knob on the control panel showing small, medium, large maybe even super. that is how you change the water level. Its for different amounts of clothing your washing at a time. If you put in a few clothes then you have the option of using less water.

I have a Maytag Centennial top load washer. When washing in normal or heavy with large or super load size, the washer remains in sensing mode. Some water does start to fill, but never reaches wash cycle....

This unit does not handle a super large load as it advertised. When you put a super large load, the sensor is over-sized and will not move on the next cycle.

Model wdss4120aww GE Washer is leaking

If it's leaking during the agitation cycle, and only in 'large' and 'super' water levels, then that's just the way the washer is designed. I got rid of that piece of junk.

Brand new GE washer only 2 yrs. old stops agitating and spinning. Model #WBBR3NOG2WW. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a bad timer/module control assembly. It works for a short time then the metal contacts get hot and "open up". The timer control mod is what's behind the big knob. About $90.00.

On older models, it is part of the transmission assembly, but on newer models, it is an electrical brake within the motor.

GE WJRR4170 washer comes out of overflow tube on super load. It does not on Large load size. I have the front off and can see a large difference in water level from large to super size. Is this adjustable?

I have a 2005 model GE washer that would overfill only on SUPER size load. After looking around on the web, then inside the machine, I checked the tube from the tub to the switch, no problem there. Then I found an adjustment screw on the load size selector / pressure switch (all one piece). I moved it one turn clockwise, then ran a test cycle. I got lucky on the first try... no more overflow, the water comes up just above the top holes in the tub. I hope this will help others.
