The violet and green wires are connected for the door triggers. Depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle, you will only need to use one of them in most cases. The violet wire is for door triggers that go positive when the doors are opened. The green wire is for door triggers that go negative when the doors are opened.
The blue wire is usually used for the hood trigger. Most often a pinswitch will need to be installed in the engine compartment. If your vehicle has an existing negative pinswitch the blue wire can be wired in with a diode inline (diode band towards the pinswitch) to the blue wire.

I am having trouble installing the wiring with my westinghouse. I don't know how to match up the wires. The Westinghouse has black, white, blue, and green wires, and my house wiring is purple, yellow and...

At the fan green is ground, blue is to turn on the fan, black turns on the light. I believe at your house wiring white is neutral and goes to the white in the fan. The purple and yellow are to switch on the fixtures, you can connect the purple to the blue, and the yellow to the black.
