I went to use my ipod touch this morning and the touch screen just wont work. The home and hold button work but it doesn't help because it won't let me slide to unlock. I tried holding down the home and hold button to reset it for like 30 seconds and nothing happened, it just showed the "slide to power off" screen. Is there anyway to fix it?

HELLO THERE:
Many people think that it's a pressure problem, and the fact that the iPod is not picking up the pressure you apply when you touch the screen to perform a task. However, the screen on the iPod Touch is not pressure-activated but rather, heat-activated. This means that when you touch the iPod screen, the sensors inside the Touch pick up on the heat from your finger and follow it to wherever it goes. If it can't pick up the heat, it won't be able to do much for you. Luckily, because it's the heat sensor, the problem can sometimes be very easily corrected.
Oftentimes, this problem occurs when people are outside on a very warm day and are trying to use their iPod Touch. Because the surrounding air is just as warm, or hotter, than the temperature from the tip of the finger, the sensors can't differentiate and so, they don't respond when you touch the screen. So, just move to a cooler place and you should be able to operate your iPod Touch again. Some also suggest turning your iPod off and on and waiting a few minutes before trying again to see if it will work.
Unfortunately, if those solutions don't work for you, you might be out of luck and might just have a defective screen. If this happens, the only solution sadly is to return your iPod Touch to Apple and hopefully, you're still under warranty to get a new one.

My ipod touch is stuck on a screen that says "ipod is disabled, try again in 5,785,421 mintues"

Connect your iPod Touch to your computer. Turn your iPod Touch off (hold down the top button and slide the red off slider). Then hold down the top button and the home button for ten seconds then let go of the top button while still holding the home button and KEEP holding it for up to 30 seconds. If it doesn't work the first time, try it again - iTunes should pop up and say that it sees an iPod Touch in restore mode. Click restore and you'll be able to get it back up...

How much to fix ipod touch screen and where

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you receive this. You want to know how much to fix the touch screen and where to fix it? I want this solution to benefit you as much as possible. Having to pay for someone to fix your iPod touch screen should be your last result. I'm tell you some options you can try that may save you a few dollars and having someone to fix the iPod touch screen. I don't if this is the problem, but the touch screen may be locked. Automatically, the iPod touch locks when there has been no activity for a certain amount of time. To unlock the touch screen, press and hold the Home button or the On/Off/Sleep/Wake button which is located at the top of your device, and then drag the slider. If you want to set the amount of time before Auto-Lock activates, press Settings, General, Auto-Lock; then set your preferred time. If that doesn't fix the problem, you can try a system reset. To do this, press and hold the Home and On/Off/Sleep/Wake buttons together for approximately 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on your screen. If this doesn't work, you can take your iPod Touch to your local Apple Retail store and have an Apple technician work on it for you. There will be a fee for diagnostic services. You can also contact Apple Technical Support or Online Service Assistant. For more contact information, go to this website (http://www.apple.com/support/contact/). I hope the problem is just a screen lock up and if you have to get a repair or replacement, it won't burn a hole in your pocket. Thank you for choosing FixYa as your one-stop solution spot for your problems and requests. Have a good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post.

First turn it off, if it can. Then, click on the home button and plug the cord to the computer and ipod. Keep holdin' the home button until the connect to itunes sign shows. Then, on itunes hold shift and click update and then update it to the version you have to download the version you have go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
then select your ipod firmware. i do not think this deletes your songs and media.

My iPod touch went all white then after I reset it the screen just went black and wont turn on now. Please help me!

  1. Back up your iPod Touch's data to your computer before the restore to prevent losing data. You'll need to reinstall it after the restore process.
  2. Connect to the internet and install the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website.
  3. Make sure your iPod Touch is connected to your computer.
  4. Pick "iPod Touch" in the Source pane of the iTunes program.
  5. Click on the Summary tab.
  6. Choose "Check for Update."
  7. Select "Restore" and follow the instructions to finish restoring your iPod Touch.
  8. Complete an Advanced Restore
  9. If following the steps in the previous section did not work, follow these steps to perform an advanced restore. Turn off the power on the iPod Touch.
  10. Plug the iPod Touch into your computer.
  11. Power on the iPod Touch.
  12. Press the "Home" and "Sleep/Wake" buttons together for 5 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  13. Release the "Sleep/Wake" button but continue holding down the "Home" button. The iPod Touch should reboot, and iTunes will notice the iPod Touch in recovery mode.
  14. Return to the above section and follow those steps to restore your iPod Touch.

My ipod touch wont work

If iPod touch won't turn on, or if the display freezes or doesn't respond
  • iPod touch may need charging. See "Charging the Battery" in the iPod touch Features Guide.
  • Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  • If that doesn't work, turn off iPod touch and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  • If that doesn't work, reset iPod touch. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If iPod touch continues to freeze or not respond after you reset it
  • Reset iPod touch settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but your data and media are left untouched.
  • If that doesn't work, erase all content on iPod touch. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings." All your preferences are reset, and all your data and media are removed from iPod touch.

To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
