There will be a filter between the cylinder/bag and the engine. If your vacuum has a HEPA filter there will be one on the other side of the engine. Remove both of these and clean them out with water, allow to dry and replace.

I have a Fantom Thunder TH469KA and it shuts off after 5-10 min of running How do I fix this?

on all vacuum cleaners the air flow cools the motor. If the filter is sufficiently clogged there would not have enough air flow to cool the motor and trips out from over heat. Clean out the filter thoroughly and try again.

If it shuts off after being used for a whirl and won't come back on for a while it is probably overheating. The heat sensor shuts the machine off and won't let it turn back on until it cools down. If this is the issue it could be the filters are clogged and not allowing enough airflow to keep the motor cool. Most bag less vacuum filters should be replaced frequently even if they are cleaned regularly.

My dirt devil keeps shutting off randomly

It's overheating. Empty the cup and replace the filters. There's a breaker that opens up and turns it off when it gets too hot. When it cools down it closes back up and it will run again. It'll argue with you til the end of time or until you fix the problem.

Good Luck

First, the word is "VACUUM." Second, it's obvoius that your motor is overheating. When's the last time you CLEANED THE FILTERS, per the operating instructions?

My vacum has overheated and will not restart?

Hi,
It has overheated because something is plugged, probably one of the hoses... take them loose and stretch them out and try to run something or look through them... they are plugged with dirt...
Then let it cool down and it should work again...

My dyson dc 16 hand held vacume stops & starts while in use, each time you pull the trigger it will start again but then stops after a short while untill i pull the trigger again.

Cutting out can be due to a few things , motor overheating due to dirty filter, Faulty mains cable or plug..sealed type also..Faulty Switch/trigger.May need to seek pro help to fix.

Over heats and shuts off, wont start again untill it cools off. can maybe vacuum one room before overheating. cyclone tubes are all clean, all hoses & lines are clear. this vacuum is fairly new, not...

The electric motor has a thermal switch and is self-resetting so there is no re-set switch. Make sure the air filter for the exhaust is clean. Also make sure that the height adjustment is not too low causing strain on the motor. Always bring the height down to where the brushes just make contact with the carpet. It is possible that the thermal safety switch is tripping due to a bad switch. In that case I would contact Drit Devil if it is still under warranty.

Vacume overheats and shuts down I replaced the motor. When it cools down it runs again.

The filters had to be cleaned out with air.
I replaced the motor for nothing. There are two filters and the cannister give them good cleanings with an air gun.
