Question about JVC HD-52G786 52" Rear Projection HDTV
I was wondering if you could tell me how you had entered the service mode, and if it's possible to do so without the manufacturers remote, such as a universal remote and how you reset the hdmi input. It'd be greatly appreciated.
Sure. I'm not sure if you can do it without the original remote, though. On my remote, you need to have the tv turned on, then press the sleep timer, then press the display and video status buttons simultaneously. This enters the service mode. Then, you should see an option for self-check (#2 i think). Enter that, then you should see 2 vertical columns of different inputs. From that screen, power the tv off. This resets all the ports on the tv.
