the resistor is r30 on the board... i just dont have a shematic...and it is not conected to fets....i was mistaken...its not on the power supply..but between main output + and - spkr terminal

this is the only resistor in paralell with the speaker outputs ...what is the purpose of this resistor and what if i just take it out??

It is very difficult to determine what resistor you need, bearing in mind that you say it is a resistor in the power supply. If you mean that it is a gate resistor (these are the resistors connected to the gate terminal of the power supply FET's) then usually these are between 27-120 ohm. However, normally there are more than one of these resistors as there will be more than one FET. Have a look and see if there is a resistor connected to exactly the same pin on another FET and see what value that is. If it is a single resistor on its own somewhere on the board it is going to be extremely difficult to tell what resistance it originally was.

I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

If it is a direct resistor in paralell with the speaker outputs then it would only be very low, probably around 4-8 ohms, but you have to make sure that the resister can handle the wattage. Check to see if there are any other resistors that connect in parallel to the speaker outputs and see what they are. One of two things will happen if you get the wrong resistor, it will either get very hot and burn out or it will reduce speaker quality. I cant see it being a very high resistance due to heat, the more resistance you add, the more heat will be produced.

    Hope this helps

The purpose of this resistor is to regulate the output impedence to the speakers. Without it you will basically have no resistance to excess current flowing to the speaker, very bad! If it is a single resistor that connects to ALL the speaker outputs then it is designed to be a resistance value equal to or greater than the total speaker impedence. For instance 4 speakers at 4 ohm impedence will require a 16 ohm resistor but need to be quite high wattage to avoid heat. The way I would tackle this is try and get the same physical size resistor and start at about 8 ohms. If it gets too hot, drop to a 4 ohm resistor. If it still gets too hot, try a larger wattage resistor and see how that goes. I have seen resistors as low as 1 ohm used in say a 100w amp, so I am thinking this is on the same sort of scale

Where can I download the schematic diagram of zed 22fx?

all resistors are banded with different colors and each band has a specific value
band colors range from black , purple, orange yellow dark green blue red grey and white and color diagrams and values can be found on the net or from shops like Jaycar
however if you want a schematic diagram if you go google and type in schematic diagram for zed 22fx you may be lucky enough to find a pdf version down load
if such a diagram is unavailable unsolder yours and take it to the shop and have it identified and they will have spares for sale

The value of resistor in the light box color coded

Without a circuit diagram or another actual unit to look at it is very difficult to identify burnt out resistors. Even harder is finding out why it burnt out because most of the time a resistor only burns out if overloaded due to other circuit component faults.

I got this one dead. There is a burnt resistor on the main circuit board ( the one with the on/off sw). Would anyone know what value it could be.

You can determine the resistors value by reading the color code bands that are marked on it. The following picture is an example of the color codes and there values.

To show you how to read the color codes on a resistor, I am including a link to a video that will explain how to do this easier than I could probably explain it.

I hope this helps you in solving the problem. If you need further assistance please feel free to ask.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

"r" usually means resistor if they are burnt it will be hard to identify the band colors on them for thier rating. Depends on if they are quater watt, or 1 watt the diameter size and where they are locted in the circut if its afffecting your picture power. If they are loose from the board means it over heated, resolder may help.
