Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

HI,

it seems like your data cable (USB Cable) you use to connect your camera with the laptop/desktop. firstly you buy the replacement cable to connect your camera to the computer,

Secondly you can also purchase USB card reader as you can buy from any IT Store and it is very minimal in cost these days

Thanks and Regards,
BIlal

You can't transfer pictures from internal memory to a memory card, sorry. You need a USB cable to connect the camera to your computer then you can transfer the pictures to the computer.

Hope this helps.

My Samsung S630 won't connect to the computer so that I can download photos taken. Any clues as to the problem?

Problem with the actual cable, the USB port being used on the computer, or the actual connection on the camera itself. The quick fix would be to take the memory card out of the camera and purchase a cheap memory card reader that you can put the card into and the PC will read that fine. From there you can copy the images over and even delete them. It reads like a jump drive.

Prices start about $10.

hi kbailey. Turn on the camera and go to the menu. find the reset function. Reset the camera. This means you are returning it to all of the settings it was at when it was brand new out of the box. Joe

I have a vistaquest vq5115. i lost the coard adapter for my camera to the computer but my friend has a cable for her camera thats not the same as mine but the same adapter to the computer. I lost the disk...

As long as the cable ends match both the camera and the pc usb connection then the cable should work just fine. In fact there are universal usb cable kits available at most electronics stores. As to getting the pics from your camera to your computer... It depends on your operating system but most newer systems will read the camera as a portable media or a portable hard disk. So you would then be able to make the usb connections and then access the camera from your " My Computer" area assuming you have Windows.

In order for you to connect this camera to your computer you need to have a USB cable that will be connecting the camera and computer for the file transfer. You can get a USB cable from any computer store.

I connect the IEEE cable (4 pin to 4 pin) to the camera and the computer and turn the camera to "play". The camera is not recognized by the computer.

Check the cable first. It's easy - put another one. If it works - change the cable. If Not - check the PC input by connecting another similar camera. If it works with another camera, then Your IEEE camera port is broken and needs to be repaired. And the order of connection must be: 1. Power off camera. 2. Put IEEE cable on it. 3. Plug another connector of cable on computer. 4. Power on the camera. DON´T TRY TO CONNECT A CAMERA IN A PLAY MODE, it probably can destroy Your camera IEEE port. Sincerely.

My fujifilm finepix s700 is having problems reading the sd cards i put in none of them are new and have worked before but when i put them in and go to playback it says there is a read error and i cant...

I had the same problem, First, format the card with the camera, you can't drop the card into a computer, because after you format the card it will only work in the camera. If its formated with a computer, then the camera can't use it. You will have to connect the camera using the USB cable to transport your pictures to the computer, use 2GB class 6 cards, the high end 4GB XSD cards will not work at all.

LOST MANUAL

This is a difficult question to answer without more details. However, most cameras have a USB connection which you can connect to any USB port on your computer (replacement cables can be purchased almost anywhere, try Best Buy) and once you connect your camera and have it in playback mode, your computer will automatically detect the camera and show up in "My Computer."

Another method you can do is take your digital camera card out of the camera and use a media card reader which reads your type of camera card.

If you need more info, you can find the manuals of most cameras online, if it is a canon go to canon.com, etc.

I dont know who to put the pics on the computer

Putting your pictures on you computer can be done in a couple of ways.

1. You can connect the camera to the computer, using the supplied cable, and then turn on the power to the camera. Your computer should detect the new camera device, and within 'Windows Explorer', you should 'see' your camera as a new device, which you can click on to view / manage your new pictures from there.

2. You could remove the memory card from the camera, and place it in the memory card reader of your computer, or alternatively purchase an inexpensive adapter to read memory cards, which would then connect to an available USB port on your computer.

The advantage of the second option is that you don't need the camera present, nor need a camera powered on during viewing.

Hope this information helps,

Erik.
