Replace the Custom Control Kit - part # 1194705 from Repairclinic.com. It is the electronic control module for this burner and it costs $151. That's what I did to my 3 1/2 year old model which had this problem, and it worked again. .

There are quite a few reviews of this product on the web that talk about this particular failure, and it happening mulitple times to some or perhaps most people. No one has a real answer and apparently Jennair (Maytag) are not interested in dealing with it - apart from charging to replace the part.

Clicking nosie is due to problem in ur power board.

please look at the relays

there are two components that u need to fix this problem:

the one major part that u need to repair is the relay.

also there is a possibility of some small capacitor going bad in your power board.

so that component cant be said in a assured manner.

u need to look at ur board for any damaged components.

it wil be bulged on TOP.

this wont cost u more than 20$ i guess.

dont forget to accept the solution if u go by it

    thank you

its not a gas cook top
you have the right type of designed pots for that cook top
but you get no heat radiating to the pot base
when pot is in contact with the heat area

A metal pot lid was set on top of the ceramic cook top. Moisture was on the lid and it is stuck to the cook top. It will not move at all. How do I remove it without damaging the cook top? Should I turn...

In case anyone else encounters this problem here's what
worked for me. I had this happen last night and came here
searching for answers. It did not unloosen on it's own
after being left overnight. Finally this morning I came up
with something that worked for me. Shoot the lid all
around with a hairdryer and use a towel to keep seeing if
it has loosened up enough to move. After a few miuntes of
spraying it with the heat it stared sliding around and then
came up.

3 of 4 knobs do not compress to turn on gas

You must replace those controls. Cleaning or loosening them up would be temporary at best and the next time they stick it could be in the open position. Safety first...Eric

Clicking gas cook top

I accidentally bumped the thing where the gas comes out (I don't know what it's called - I'm a wife not a tekkie) and it started clicking when I turned it on. I turned off the gas and repositioned that gizmo and it stopped clicking.

Jenn air jed 8430 electric cooktop control switch for rear burner

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.
