Sony DSC-M1 shows a purple blurry pictures

This is the first problem I have since I got my Sony M1 4 years ago. Just last week, every time I want to take pictures, the LCD shows a very bad preview of the images I want to take. It's sort of in blue-purple-ish color and the images are all blur. The result when I take the picture is as bad as the preview. I've tried to reset the camera, and it didn't work at all. Is there any other solutions for this problem?

My sony DSC-M1 gives photos with dark background first. After changing the settings now it gives only darkness

I have never had a problem with this camera and I've put it through the ringer! However, last month, when I turn it on, the 'click' didn't sound quite as crisp. The screen shows lines running up and down with blurred, odd colours in the background. The snap I take looks the same as the image on the screen.

I turned it off and on and, for a few times, this seemed to do the trick. Now I'm out of luck. I love this camera and would really like to repair it if possible.

    Thanks!

I was actually hopping to find a simple solution here since I have the exact problem. I've had my DSC-M1 for four years now and it has worked flawless till about a month ago when I noticed the LCD image was blurry and distorted with a purplish blue fade. I need to know if any of the solutions work and the price tag associated with it since it may be more cost effective to buy a new camera.

    Thanks.

You probably got some condensation on the lens from going in and outside. You should be able to go to a Wolf Camera or similar store and have it cleaned.
