Question about LG 30 in Kitchen Series Dual Convection 5.6 cu ft Electric Range - LRE30955ST Kitchen Range
The range was bought & installed less than a month ago. The surface unit works fine. However; when using the oven -and we only used it twice-, it shuts off & on periodically througout the baking process. The second time using the oven, it still shut off & on periodically and this time I had to turn the breaker off in order to shut off the oven because the clear/off button is completely inop.
Also, most of the keys on the control panel are inop and as time progress, more keys become inop.
When I encounter these problems, I checked to see if my breaker has been tripped and if my fuse has been blown...the end result is that the breaker was never tripped nor any blown fuses.
I've been battling with on and off inop problems on the controls of my range. sometimes a good cleaning or turning the circuit on and off has worked, but recently the start button and 1 of the burners stopped working. after surfing through many forums with the same problems, i found 1 with some solution advice that worked great so i decided to revisit some of the sites i surfed for info the forward the advice.....
the ribbon circuits get dirty and simply need tp be unplugged, wiped clean and reattatched. after doing this, my oven is good as new...i hope this helps:)

I had a similar problem, where the oven would shut off, sometimes during the pre-heat and sometimes after reaching the set temperature. I had the control boards replaced a couple of times with no luck fixing the problem. Then a repairman found that the range has a slave board, referred to by LG as the Oven Relay PCB. Everything works great now. I don't know for sure that this will solve your problem, but it worked for a similar problem I was having.

Greetings bakersman,
That definately sounds like a defective unit. I would strongly encourage contacting your place of purchase prior the first month of purchase expiring so you may be able to either get a tech out free of charge or perform an exchange.
I hope this helps.

Yes The oven go's into lockout and seems to go thourgh the self test mode. It also will turn on by it self in different modes. I have to reboot the oven by shuting off the braker and back on again. This is a very dangers thing to happen, i have woken up at night with a red hot oven.
I had a service man come and he replaced two other oven control boards and it did not work on them we didn't replace mine yet. I tryed to put the oven in lockout and it still dose it.Im also an exservice guy in many things retired.
help...just wanna cook some chops!
can't automatically clean the machine because it turns off after twenty minutes. not three hours. can't bake anything without standing right next to it to keep turning back on the oven. top range works fine though. pretty innovative touch button design but this oven sucks.
New LG electric range. Stove top works but the control panel for other features do not.
