Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer

1 Answer

The light inside the dryer does not turn on. We took the light out and the filaments look good. This is in conjunction with the fact that the dryer does not heat to dry. The tumbling mechanism works, but not the heating element. Other lights on the selection panel work.

My right rear running light is not working on my 1999 ford countor but brake light dose what is it

Most of these lamps have TWO filaments. The first is a low wattage / brightness that comes on when the lights are turned on. The second is a higher wattage / brightness that comes on when you step on the brakes (and in some cars - use the turn signal).

Think of the lamp as one of those 50 - 100 - 150 watt three-way bulbs. You can burn out one wattage but the other still works. You'll simply have to replace the bulb that contains the bad running light filament. The fact that the brake filament still works doesn't matter.

07 Impala rear driver side brake light and turn signal does not work, but when I checked the bulb it was working just not when I press the brake. The left turn signal on the dash also blinks rapidly.

Sounds like a possible bad ground connection.
Make sure the contacts for the bulb are clean.
Make sure the cround connection is not corroded.

84 harley sportster want to change from turn signal only ( one wire, black) to turn signal and marker light (two wire, purple and black) rear

You'll have to replace the single filament turn signal unit with a dual filament unit and wire the brake light to one filament and the tail light to the other one. Make sure you've got a good ground on the turn signal unit.

Good Luck

Dear welcomejee, I have a Sony Grand Wega 60" LCD, owned since June 2004. Model # KF-60WE610; Date of manufacture- April 2004. Recently while watching TV, the screen turned black. No picture....

The lamp is an arc type lamp an as such has no filament.
Look again as I expect there will be a different reason for you lack of sound/vision.

Tail lights went out, but break lights still work....what is going on???

Bulbs have 2 filaments in them so that one bulb can do the same as two. One filament runs for brake and turn signals the other for the tail lights. You need a set of 1157 bulbs with the flat plastic ends. If new bulbs don't work you may have a wiring or switch problem, but they die at the same time a lot more than people think

My 2001 Ford Escape left headlamp cuts out intermittently. It will work again with a light tap on the lens. When it is working properly and I try to recreate the problem by pushing the connector and wires,...

There is likely a bad filament in the bulb or the connector at the back of the bulb is burned. Most likely the filament inside the bulb itself. Once the bulb starts burning the filament is (semi-welded) together, when the lights are turned off and the filament cools it separates until bumped, jostled, or shaken into place. Check the connector and if it is not burned and the terminals inside look good and clean then just replace the bulb. You may never get it to fail once you get it to light, intermittent electrical issues are something I deal with on a daily basis and can be harrowing to locate. But I would bet my paycheck it is the bulb or connector.
Good luck

Only half of the heating element works

i looked up your model andfound it to need part number 3401338, this is the heater, i cannot see howe only 1/2 of the coil is going to light, its either on and all lights or its gone bad in which case its never gonna glow, its one filament like a lightbulb as long as the filament is good its alll good. too long to dry or extendedd dry times is most likely an issue with a blocked/clogged vent hose

Only headlights work, 91 4dr EX

ok supaxang, could this solution be as simple as replace the 2 rear bulbs? The brake light and tail light (parking light) are the same bulb, 2 filaments, one for brakes, one for tail lights. If the the tail light filament burns out, the brake light will continue to work ok. It is quite possible that both tail lights burned out, and the brake light filaments are good and still working. Replace w/ bulb #2057. Let me know if this fixes it, if not, I'll keep working on it.

Could you take out a bulb and with a testlight/probe check that you do in fact have power to that circuit .Also check that they are the correct bulb for that application I have seen people put indicator bulbs in where therse supposed to be a double filament bulb.Does the base of the bulbs lead contacts line up with the two steel terminals inside the plug?
