Hi,

I could not understand your question.
Do you want to install the printer software or do you want to connect the printer and start using it ?
Also, please let me know the version of MAC o/s you are using.

Basic Help is :
1. Turn the printer on
2. Connect the Printer USB to MAC
3. It should install the drivers

If this does not work,
Run the software disk of the printer and follow the instructions on screen.
Connect the printer as required at the time of installation or later after the installation is complete.

I have an hp deskjet f4400 printer. it was working on my pc. I have just purchased a macbook pro and now it says the printer is offline. It is setup for wireless. what should i do?

The only thing I can think of is if this is a new macbook pro it will have OS X 10.7 Lion on it and according to the hp website http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3837403&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3742084 there are not Lion drivers for it and if hp were going to support lion with this printer they would have probably have been put up on the site by now.

Can I load the driver/software for my canon MP210 printer onto my OS Macbook pro?

Yes you can but you'll need to install the Mac OsX driver to make it run through your Macbook Pro. You can download the Mac OSX driver from HERE,(open the link and select O.S i.e. Mac OSX and Language and click "submit", the download links will be displayed) it should also be included in the CD that came with the printer.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How can I use my Dell 720 printer with my Macbook Pro?

Nope, It will almost definitly not work with your macbook. I have a macbook pro and a dell photo printer and there is no way I could get them working together. Dell does not seem to care about mac users. The installation CD for their printers do NOT work with mac os, only windows. An apple rep advised me to try using some of the laptops built in drivers, but i still couldnt get it to work. Short answer, maybe give it a try before buying another printer, but most likely you are not gonna be able to use your dell printer with the macbook. sorry, I wish dell would change their position on this issue as well.

Driver for 1020 hp for macintosh

try this,
  1. Download; http://www.railsguru.com/assets/2007/4/16/1601_LJ_1022_Series_OSX.dmg;
  2. If you have anything for the HP 1020 in ”/Library/Reciepts” delete it.
  3. Delete anything for the HP 1020 in Printer in “Printer Setup Utility”
  4. Install the downloaded printer drivers
  5. Remove all files from /Library/Printers/hp/laserjet. Leave the 1020 subfolder! You’ll need the contents in the next step;
  6. Move all files from the 1020 subfolder to /Library/Printers/hp/laserjet (the parent);
  7. Restart Mac OSX, just for luck;
  8. Add new printer in “Printer Setup Utility”, select HP LaserJet 1020, driver should come up, click ADD
