Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS120 32" TV

Sony Trinitron Blinking

I have a Sony Trinitron Model # KV32FS12 that for some reason started blinking. The picture turns black but ther is still sound. The blinking only stays momentarily and a picture comes back. I have been told to go to menu and reset to factory settings. However, I can't get the picture on long enough to see the menu let alone make a choice. I have asked Sony and all I get is take it to a dealer. Before I throw it away, do you have a suggestion?

    Hi Rick

The blinks indicate that the set is in breakdown mode and the number of blinks give an indication of what the problem is.Can you please tell me how many blinks you are getting?

Hi R012611H

Sorry to take so long to get to you. Most sony Tuve TV's are pretty good performers for colour. If you are into that sort of thing, so can be worthwhile fixing. If it has power supply problems, may cost you up to $200 to fix. Rule of thumb, if repairs are more than half the replacement cost, it is uneconomic to repair.

My sony Trinitron KV-32S42 keeps blinking on and off

This can be a symptom of the picture tube starting to fail or a power supply problem. Can you please verify the model number and I'll then be able to give you a few options.

Thanks,
Dan
