ITS THE SERIAL NUMBER ON YOUR ROUTER, NOT SURE THE MAKER OF YOUR ROUTER, HAVE YOU TRIED OPENING YOUR BROWSER AND IN THE ADDRESS BAR JUST TYPE 192.168.1.1 AND IT SHOULD BRING UP YOUR ROUTER MENU, YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE THE CODE OR DISABLE IT, THERE SHOULD ALSO BE ALL THE INFO ON YOUR ROUTER SOMEWHERE IN THE MENU, WHOEVER SET THE ROUTER UP INITIALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MENU TO SET OR CHANGE THINGS. IF YOUR SETTING UP THE CONNECTION ON YOUR COMPUTER JUST CHOOSE YOU ARE CONNECTING TO A DSL THAT IS ALWAYS CONNECTED, AND IT SHOULD JUST AUTO CONNECT WITHOUT THE WEP KEY, BUT AS I SAID YOU CAN GO INTO THE MENU BY TYPING 192.168.1.1 IT SHOULD GIVE YOU ANY INFO YOU NEED.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. According to the manual, you can purchase any wireless router (manual calls the router "air base")

I would advise a D-link or a Linksys router.

Just purchased iMac with Snow Leopard OS. Apple tech spt states WEP broadcasts incompatible with OS. Need to update router to WPA or WPA-2. How do I do this with DI-614+

Basically ypu will need to change the wireless settings of the router.
To change the wireless settings you will need to access the router set up page.
Is there any computer connected to the router? If not then you will need to connect one computer to the router with the cable. Open the set up page of the router and change the wireless settings of the router. When you change the wireless security settings, change the wireless network name also ( SSID ). Once you change the SSID and the security on the router, you will need to connect to the wireless network on all the wireless devices with the new network name and security

Connection of D-Link 02.11g/2.4GHz Wireless Router

Connection can either be wired, or wireless.

If wired, connect a cable from one of the ports of the new PC to one of the ports on the back of the router.

If wireless, you will need a wireless card for the new PC. Install the card, set up security, and you will be connected.
