Yes you can sell this unit. You would have better luck posting on ebay or craigslist.

SOURCE: capacitor unable to read what size

If it's the condenser fan motor cap then look at the label on the fan motor for the size usally 3/5 mfd.
If its the compressor run cap then check the top of the compressor or the info. plate/sticker on the unit for the size of the cap. Let me know if you have any other questions.

What seer and tonnage is a Bryant condenser unit model # 561CJ048 and serial # 4598E06708?

According to the specifications here: http://dms.hvacpartners.com/docs/1009/public/01/pds561c.18.10.pdf , all Bryant 561C air conditioners are 10 SEER. The 048 model has a 4 ton nominal cooling capacity.

I hope this helps.

I believe I might need to change my (20 amp) breaker switch that is running on 10-2 wire which supplies power to my Rheem Classic 10 Seer. I'm not sure if I need to have 220V of power on a 30amp...

Hello, the unit runs on 220 volts that's why # 10 wire must be used. The best bet is to use a 40amp breaker for 220 volts, gives the circuit more protection.

How old is this unit? Will newer units be easier on electrical consumption?

Unfortunately, the model or serial number doesn't show in your question. I see this all the time, I guess it doesn't show all of your information sometimes. So for your first question, you will need the serial number if you don't have a manufacturing date on your data plate somewhere on the unit. In the serial number, it's usually the first 3-4 digits after the letters. Example C1085???. These digits in order will give you the month it was made and the year it was made, so in my example it would be made in October, 1985. It's really hard to tell without a serial number posted though. For your second question, any unit made before 1992 will have around a 10 seer rating or less and some there after. In the most recent few years, you won't get anything less than a 13 seer unit, which is about 30% savings in cost to run the unit and a lot less energy consumption. You can now get up in the 20's with seer ratings which save a ton of money but cost a lot too! Hope this helps and if you still can't figure out the year for your older unit, try posting the serial number in the question itself. Good luck!

I cannot find the seer rating or tonage of a Goodman air conditioner serial number 9908524497

My books do not go back far enough to get you the Seer rating, it is a 5 ton unit and as the serial number shows it to be a 1999 model, it is probably a 10 SEER unit, maybe a 12 seer, but not likely, but I can tell you that it was manufactured on the 8th week of 1999.
I hope that I have helped, have a great day.

Heil Heat pump model # NHP218AKC2, I need the specs to replace an old unit in the other side of my duplex

I can help you on part of your question, the system that you listed above is a 1.5 ton unit, if I had the serial number I could give you the age of the unit. If it is a late 1990 model, then it is probably a 10 SEER unit, maybe a 12 SEER, if it is older than 1994 it will be a 8 to 10 SEER, but due to new federal rules, all new heat pump or air conditioners are at least 13 SEER. If you just replace the outdoor unit and leave the coil indoors, it will be mismatched and cause the unit to be less effeciant, and some problem in adjusting the Freon levels.
Ideal is to change the outdoor unit and indoor coil.
I hope this helps, I am new to this site, so I am still trying to get to the point, and yet give you the details that you need.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

I have a ruud achiever 10 model upgc-030jas and a high eletric bi

I'm using a calculation of VxA=W. Assuming your system is 240 volts and total amperage of system with 15 amps, I come up with 3600 watts or 3.2KW. Because the outdoor temp was above 35 deg F, the electric heaters probably did not cyle on to frequently if at all. Your calculation sounds reasonable to me. To determine exactly how many KW your system is using, you will need to determine exactly how many volts and amps your unit is running at...both indoor and outdoor units if this is a split system.
I've included a link to a website that helps the homeowner to determine the KWh.

I hope you found this helpful and good luck in your endeavor! :-)

I have a GE model No. BTN 748A100A1 (central air outside unit). Serial number 40564128. When was it made? What is its efficiency? It now handles #1950 sq. ft. Cab it handle 2950 sq ft when I remodel?

GE stopped making AC units probably 20 years ago. The same unit will not handle an additional 1000 sq. ft. I believe it is a four ton unit and about a 6 SEER rating which is way down on the efficency scale. You will need a 5 ton system to handle 2950 sq. ft. The average SEER rating now is 13.5.
