Fuji will replace it, contact them. I had to replace mine 4 times, and they finally sent me a new camera. Now, I am also experiencing the lines across my photos with the new camera. It seems like they have many faulty products.

My camera wont zoom

I had a similar problem on a Kodak Easyshare camera. The gear merchanism for the Zoom had jammed. I know it sounds drastic, but I fixed it by pushing in on the lens assembly until is snapped back in place. It could be a bad motor or bad motor driver circuit too.

ZOOM ERROR

the spare parts won't be so much, if you try and fix it yourself, you will save a ton of money otherwise it could be around $100 to send it in and get it fixed. You can start finding the problem by opening the screws on the bottom/back of the camera and find what gears are jammed and won't zoom. or I can get you a number to call to send it in, thanks

Lens Error fix for Digital Camera

One of the mostcommon digital camera error messages has to do with a lens problem. Some cameras will just beep and not show any error message and otherswill have an error message on the LCD screen. Some camera's will try tostart, the lens will go out and then return back and shut down.Sometimes nothing at all will happen, but the lens is the reason whythe camera will not start up.

Different camera'smay give you different error codes. Some of the error codes will beE-18 for older Cannon camera's, ACCESS error for Sony, Zoom Error forFuji, lens error restart, or just plain lens error. These are themost common camera error messages, but your digital camera may have a different one.

There are manydifferent things that can cause the lens to give an error message. One of the most common causes is keeping the camera in a case or bag.The dust, grit, felt, and lint from the bag gets into the cameralenses and causes it to jam. The static electric from the camerarubbing the side of the case causes the dirt to be attracted to thelens, which makes the problem even worse. Also if your camera is in acase and the button gets pushed to turn the camera on, and the lenscannot extend it can cause the lens pins to come out of the track, causing focus problems and lens errors. Bottom line is that you areoften better off not keeping your camera in a case! It is saferwithout a case then with one.

The next problemthat many people encounter is that they drop or knock the camera withthe lens out. When this happens, the lens pins can come out of thetrack, and/or the lens can be knocked sideways, which will jam thelens as it tries to extend and/or focus and zoom. If you do drop orbang your camera against something, there is about a 50/50 chancethat it can be fixed. Many times with care the lens can be realigned, but in some cases the jarring or the realigning, will break somethinginternally, so there will be no fix for it.

If your digital camera hasa problem, you will have a couple of choices. You can try to fix ityourself, or you can try to find a camera repair shop that will fix it for you.Because of the type of problems that cause lens errors, the digital camerarepair will seldom be covered under the manufacturer warranty. Alsobe careful to get a quote from a digital camera repair shop before youauthorize the repair. Many times the repair price quoted will be morethen the replacement cost of the digital camera. If you do a search on theinternet for a camera repair shop, make sure to include any shipping andhandling costs in the repair price.

Zoom error

There is a problem in the zoom functions of the lens assembly. Dust and lint can get in it and jam it, and you can try to spray compressed air into the lens in hopes of freeing it up. A gear can also be jammed, or stripped. If it's just jammed, you may be able to fix it yourself. Here is a web page that details all the things you can try to get it working. They say about half of the cameras with these problems can be fixed by trying their suggestions. The article says it's for lens errors, but it applies to the problem you're having:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
If none of these tips help, the camera will have to be serviced. Get an estimate first, since the cost of repair can exceed the replacement cost of a new one. Good luck, and hope this helps.

My zoom lens is not opening when i switch on the camera and the screen is showing a message zoom error

Usually those symptoms indicate that the lens extension drive motor or gears are jammed or failed. This means you will need to take it in for repairs or replace it.

Unfortunetly the repair cost on this is not cheap and can come close to what a new camera is worth. If you have warrenty then get it fixed it will be covered but if you are paying for it then get an estimate and check it against the cost of a new camera.

My Lens wont retract on my exilm zoom ex-z60

If it is under warranty Casio can fix it for free. other wise you end up paying the labor/parts. Can become very costly. I suggest open the case and replace the plastic housing that hosts the saw wheels. Should fix the problem

Zoom error

worked on allot of fuji's. first detease, a gear is slipping in the lens retract assembly due to a crack or wear or jam

2nd guest .. zoom errors means its really stuck tight

the gears can be ordered and replaced and one more possibility is that the motor that drives the gear is bad
Also if dropped or zoom lens jammed hard... lens assembly needs total realignment or replacing..
