Question about Gateway MT3705 Notebook
My laptop will not see the wireless connection it says it cannot connect other computer in my home connect it worked fine until about a wk ago the power was off and since then i cant get it to see the wireless connection would this have anything to do with this problem
Force a restart by disconnect the power, wait 20 seconds and then replug it back in. Most of these units do not have an on-off switch. Sometimes when the power goes out the wireless devices will not restart correctly.
Another item to look for is someone else in your neighborhood who just bought a new wireless router, probably the same kind as yours and is broadcasting its availability. Your computer sees it as the "preferred" device and will try to connect. There may not be enough "bars" for it or they may have secured theirs but did not change the name advertised. You can fix this by changing your router's name and securing it and then changing the connection at your laptop. This will insure that it always picks yours. You may also want to look at the "preferred" connections list and remove any unwanted available connections.
