I have a Toshiba. Following are the details :
Model :32A43
Chasis : 7AC0302
Problem : Volume goes down automatically. Let me explain the scenario. After
switching on the TV, let’s say I am on National Geographic channel. Volume
would be zero. If I try to increase the volume (either by using the remote or by
using the volume button), I can see the volume green bar going up and can hear
the sound. But, if I take my finger off the remote volume button or the TV
volume button, the volume goes down to zero. Can you
please help me.
Thanks, Ravi.

- Hi,
I have already tried the following, but it's of no use.
a) removed the batteries from the remote.
b) unplugged all the cables and power cable and tried after 1 day.
-   volume changes on it's own as do the channels. toshiba actually told me it would be cheaper to get a new tv than to have this one fixed.

-   Exactly the same problem with me. Do suspect a faultly design or construction of the electronic main board. I will contact Toshiba for free repair because my tv set is only 5 years old.
-   I've had my Toshiba since 2003, and it's been great up until now. The volume turns all the way up, or all the way down on it's own, and it changes channels on it's own. I removed the batteries from the remote, I unplugged the cable box from the TV, I've unplugged the TV, and nothing works. Also, if I put the menu up, it will switch through the menu choices on it's own. Flat screens are much to far out of my budget, and there is only one TV repair shop for miles around, so you can imagine how much they would cost. Does anyone know what's doing this and how I can fix it cheaply?

-   I have similar issues, even if you use the control on the tv it goes up when you press it but right back down when you release it. At the same time you can not shut the tv off either with the remote or on the tv-   Guest

-   Same exact problem. It keeps turning itself down but then out of nowhere it will turn itself all the way up then all the way down!-   janelleran
Try removing the batteries from the remote. Then adjust the volume from the tv panel. If the problem is resolved, then it sounds like you may have a stuck remote button.
I am having same problem on 32 inch same problem. After playing with board with no results,I tried front buttons and found that if I held the power button in ever so slighItly as not to turn it off, it fixed problem which is the micro on/off switch, I removed the switch and used the remote and everything is back to normal, I am about to insall a used micro switch after I finish typing this but I am sure this will clear up volume problen and menu going crazy problem if not I will just leave micro switch out and use the remote, and I will get back to this board only if that micro switch still causes the problem, so if I don't post in next hour the problem is fixed and I'm more than glad to help.

As of a few days ago, My TOSHIBA TV MOD.32AF43 has shown a faded image with many horizontal lines across the screen. My TV was purchased probably in the year 2003/2004. I have checked all wires/cables behind the TV and the TV cable entering the house. What could be wrong with the TV? Can is be fixed? Jon
I have the same problem with my Toshiba 32A33. Could it be a firmware issue affecting multiple Toshiba models? I've also tried turning the volume all the way up, then started tapping the down control when it goes down to see if it's lose. This has no effect and it still decreases the volume automatically at the same rate. It used to happen sporadically, now it happens all the time where the volume automatically goes down.
