Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Hi A'm hoping you can help me? yesterday i went on to xbox live to backward compatable my 360 with rainbow 6 3 black arrow,
The screen froze and i re started, thats where the major problem started, all i get now is the 3 flashing lights and nothing else, no picture, with or with out the Hard drive, tried trouble shooting to no avail.
and to top it off MS said it will have to come in for repair which takes 3 weeks, however i have seen on the internet that this is not the case, more like 5 weeks plus and also when they do replace it its for a referb, which has hifh potential to be much older that mine and have same faults, (ive done a bit of research)
all i want is for MS to pick up my 360 and replace it with a brand new current 2008 model. of is there something i can do myself?
i bought myu 360 in november 2007 so its barly over 6 months old
Dude i know exactly how to fix this 100%. I know how to open it and completly and fix it, but it takes way too long to explain. But the cause of the three red lights is gunk. you see when you play it. it overheats which allows the gunk to melt on the the two gpu's which temporarily disables it. so what you gotta do is open it up to the motherboard, and clean the gunk off and put new gunk which is something called silicone heatsink patse. then i swear it will work. it worked for me it will work for you. also another suggestion is go to google and type in ''xbox 360 rrod repair'' and it will be tons of videos showin how to open it and fix it. it worked for me!!!. or you can send it in to the company.

You got red ring of death (RROD) it's the biggest problem on the xbox 360... the normal xbox 360 cooler, wich is in your 360, doesn't work good and your xbox turns of. sometimes if you're gaming, the console will get overheat and scratches your cd! when your 360 starts and shows 3 red flashing lights there seems to be something wrong... i don't really know what happens next because i got it too last year and when i turned of my 360 and started it again it was gone. the only thing you can do is wait for microsoft to repair him or if you don't have your warranty let him repair by someone else for something like € 50,-
