NAD 502 CD player problem

posted by vinylvampire on Jun 18, 2008

I recently aquired this CD player 2nd hand, the prev owner exp that the drawer would stick closed, but if a CD was allways left in it was ok & yes sure enough this was the case & apart from this feature it worked perfectly well & was very enjoyable to listen to.
Then the inevitable happened & someone didnt leave a disc in & the drawer stuck!
I took the cover off & released the drawer by pushing the cassette down to allow the drawer to open & then put the 'sleeper' disc back in.
Now it doesn't work at all- doesn't register disk or spin up & displays- no disc.
AAAaaarrghhh!!!! Have I broken it permanently???
Cheers, Geoff.

Does it have a failing drawer belt? My 522 was fixed after that.
