Problem with keyboard replacement in IBM Thinkpad R52

Hello.
My keyboard in Thinkpad R52 was originally German adapted to work with polish language (stickers on keys) - FRU number of this keyboard is 39T0769. I've bought a new keyboard with FRU 39T0704, but after install I can't type certain keys, i.e. keys (t, y, a, s) works, but typing (8, 0, /, q, w, e, r, u, i, o,p, ], k,) has no effect on the screen, and so on. Supposedly this keyboard may be locking, but I don't know how this lock remove (if any)? Please help me.

The keyboard you purchased (39T0704) is a US English keyboard. Change your input local in your "Keyboard" "Control Panel" to "EN English (United States)" and all your keys should work. As far as getting the English keyboard to work in German or Polish is very unlikely.

It is possible that since your notebook is not US and the keyboard is that the code pages in the keyboard are incompatible with the BIOS in your computer. You could try flashing the BIOS of the computer with a BIOS downloaded from IBM's US website.

Hi, IBM ThinkPad R52 PC (1860-2nu) comes with Infrared and wi-fi however it has no bluetooth. If you want to use bluetooth, you may buy a USB Bluetooth adapter. It can be connected with the laptopvia USB port and works just fine.
Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya! CreativeTECH

Ibm r52 is working with battery, but the battery is not getting charged. Ac adapter is working properly.

Either bad battery or failed battery charging circuit on the motherboard.
You cannot tell which is failing without testing laptop with another known good battery.

Ibm thinkpad R52 laptop no powering on, adapter is ok.

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

If this did not work, try also disassembling the laptop & make sure that all main components are seated properly. Also make sure that all ribbon cables interconnecting the various components of the laptop are tightly connected.

MY IBM Thinkpad R52 laptop is not entering in BIOS setup

OK< this is main fix I start with when working with a Thinkpad...Unplug from the AC adapter...remove the battery, and the cmos battery. That is the one about the size of a quarter. Leave them out for about 20 minutes. re assemble and try again...hope this helps...
