I have used the scanner on my MP600 many times with my mac. All of a sudden I now have an error code that say: "Unable to save file. The system cannot find the path specified". I called Mac and they said it was something that has changed with the printer- but of course.Any ideas?

Re: MP600 Canner quit working
It sounds like a folder on your hard drive got renamed or moved/deleted. Open your Applications folder and look for a folder named Canon Utilities. Open the MP Navigator 3.0 file. Click on the Preferences button in the lower right corner. Click on the "Color Button" (or "Black Button") tab, and select the "Save to PC" option for "Event:". Verify that the folder indicated next to "Save in:" exists (this is the 'path specified' that the advisory message is referring to). If not, change it to a location that exists on your computer.

Make sure that you have all the installation files shown at the following link http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010643.asp In Mac then start Solution Menu from the menu bar, select the Go menu, Applications, Canon Utilities, Solution Menu, then double-click Solution Menu. I have had the mp600 for 3 years - worked fine on a couple of different pcs. I switched to a mac and encountered 2 issues - scanner stopped working and above problem of no black ink. The newest driver (just google mp600 driver) fixed the scanner issue. The ink issue has a work around - select non plain paper in the media quality tab, instead use any photo paper setting. Finding this area in a mac can be tricky - in the mini print options window you have to click the small chubby arrow and you will then be given a list of options including quality and media. Presto, black ink returns but probably uses more ink and takes longer to print. I have not found a more elegant solution as you have to select this non default paper option every time.
My MP600 came up error 306 for no reason. I unplugged everything and plugged it back in again (I found a clump of dust at the USB port on the hub, which could have been involved) - the printer worked again no problem.
I have got pictures from the scanner to the PC using the import option with photoshop. It would probably work with other image handling software.
The MP navigator program supplied with the MP600 is non functional with my machine. It just comes up with 'insufficient memory ' message as I said in my posting
