The XG-A takes two 1.5V alkaline-manganese A-76 (or equivalent) or two 1.55V silver-oxide EPX-76 or S-76 (or equivalent) batteries.

How do i load batteries into my minolta xg-a camera

Use a coin to unscrew the battery cover on the base of the camera.

If you need a manual, you can download one from
http://butkus.org/chinon/minolta/minolta_xg-a/minolta_xg-a.htm
The battery replacement instructions are on page 12.

What type of battery does it use?

The XG-A uses two 1.5v alkaline-manganese (Eveready A-76 or equivalent) or 1.55v silver-oxide (Eveready EPX-76/S-76 or equivalent) batteries.

Do not use 1.35v mercury batteries (Eveready EPX-675 or equivalent), which have a similar shape.

Lacrosse xg 55 - Do I need to replace the battery? When I use the light nothing displays is this a battery issue? How do I change it if it is the problem?

Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for
the small cost saving in doing it yourself.

Does the minolta xg-a have to have batteries to use the view finder? if so, what kind of batteries does it take

The XG-A requires batteries, not just for the viewfinder, but also for the shutter. It uses two alkaline A-76 (or equivalent) or two silver-oxide EPX-76 (or equivalent).

If you need an owner's manual, you can download a PDF version from http://www.butkus.org/chinon/minolta.htm

The battery of my XG-55 is down. I tried with several watch repair labs, but they told me that after changing the battery, the watch doesn't start again. Any advice?

When you change the battery on this watch you have to short the circuit board. You need a fine pair of tweezers and you need to look on the circuit board for an arrow or bare spot, put 1 end of the tweezers on that place on the circuit board and the other on the battery at the same time. that should do the trick if the battery was installed correctly and the battery is good.
