Maybe, ask a friend who is still running XP to temporarily restore it to a separate folder. Then burn off what you need to a CD or DVD and copy to the Vista machine.

Yes it needs repair, I suppose the tapes are fine them selfs so they should work fine in another one, you will have to service the tape drive, you can get another tape drive and the tapes should work.

Is it healthy to feed my caged birds only store bought food?

Storebought food for caged birds should meet most of their nutritional requirements, but your bird would also benefit from some fresh and low cost foods/ water thatyou don't need to buy specially. Here's an article about substituting some ofthe bought foods for healthier options http://www.quakerville.com/qic/feeding.asp

How to use the superstation 10gb with XP? Can you use this tape backup with XP?

Sony does not support this configuration, the last OS they supported for this is Win 98. It is doubtful that any of the generic drivers that come with XP will work with the drive.

Recovery

Before starting anything, get some information. Do you know:
  • What the files are called?
  • Where the files should be located?
  • What backup media you have a backup of the files on?

If you know the answer to the third question, then you can skip ahead. If you know which files need to be restored, but you don't know which media you need to restore from, you can either browse for the file, or use the Search Catalogs feature.
To browse for the file:
  1. Click Restore
  2. Ensure that in the View by box, Resource is selected
  3. Expand the server and resource where the files are located
  4. Browse through the media, folders and files to find the files you want
  5. Select the files and folders you wish to restore
To restore the files:
  1. Ensure you have the files you wish to restore selected
  2. If you wish to restore using a specific device, click Devices and choose the appropriate device
  3. If you wish to restore the files to a different location, click File Redirection, click the Redirect file sets box and choose where you want to restore to. If some of the files you wish to restore may be in use, then it may be a good idea to redirect the file set, then copy the files to the correct location
  4. Click General. If you want to restore the files from the backup media, even if they have been updated, then select Restore over existing files
  5. Click Run Now
  6. If the correct media is not already in the drive, you will be prompted to insert it.

Restoring files to my C: drive

  1. Open shortcutcold.gifBackup.
  2. The Backup Utility Wizard starts by default, unless it is disabled.
  3. Click the Advanced Mode button in the Backup Utility Wizard.
  4. Click the Restore and Manage Media tab, in Click to select the check box for any drive, folder, or file that you want to restore, select the files and folders you want to restore by clicking the check box to the left of a file or folder.
    1. In Restore files to, do one of the following:
    2. Click Original location if you want the backed up files and folders to be restored to the folder or folders they were in when they were backed up. Skip to step 6.
    • Click Alternate location if you want the backed up files and folders to be restored to a folder that you designate. This option will preserve the folder structure of the backed up data; all folders and subfolders will appear in the alternate folder you designate.
    • Click Single folder if you want the backed up files and folders to be restored to a folder that you designate. This option will not preserve the folder structure of the backed up data; the files will appear only in the folder that you designate.
    1. If you selected Alternate location or Single folder, type a path for the folder under Alternate location, or click the Browse button to find the folder.
    1. On the Tools menu, click Options, click the Restore tab, and then do one of the following:
    2. Click Do not replace the file on my computer if you do not want the restore operation to copy over files that are already on your hard disk.
    • Click Replace the file on disk only if the file on disk is older if you want the restore operation to replace older files on your disk with newer files from your backup.
    • Click Always replace the file on my computer if you want the restore operation to replace files on your disk regardless of whether the backup files are newer or older.
    1. Click OK to accept the restore options you have set.
    2. Click Start Restore.

There is a problem with the air bag system. This may mean that the underlying problem is actually the computer box. Your best bet is to take it to a professional who deals with computer boxes, or the agents.
