Question about Car Audio & Video
I am trying DESPERATELY to hook up my Kenwood in my 1994 Toyota Camry and can't for the LIFE of me figure out the wiring. Refuse to ask any guys around here and give them the satisfaction of me needing help. Very self suffiecient. However, seeing how you can't razz me on a daily basis, could you PLEASE hook a woman up!! :-)
If you go to anyplace that installs car stereos you can purchase an installation harness that will connect directly to your factory harness in your car. That way you would only need to wire your Kenwood harness to the instllation harness and that is just a matter of matching colors from the Kenwood harness to the installation harness. All you need to do after that is plug it in.
The wiring on the Kenwood harness is as follows:
yellow = constant 12 volts
red = ingnition (12 volts when key is turned on)
black = ground
white = front left speaker positive
white w/black stripe = front left speaker negative
grey = front right speaker positive
grey w/black stripe = front right speaker negative
green = rear left speaker positive
green w/black stripe = rear left speaker negative
purple = rear right speaker positive
purple w/blackk stripe = rear right speaker negative
blue = power antenna
blue w/white stripe = remote amp turn on
brown = phone
orange w/white stripe = illumination
