I have been told by a friend of mine who works for a telecom company. It is something to do with the power supply unit. We managed to find a second hand unit to change it and the problem is now solved. Many thanks for the help.

I don't think this is a Display problem since there's something more i.e "displaying Software version (2.2) and year built (2003 4.3)". I am sure that this is a new issue as there are no similar complaints yet. I suspect the internal memory (Flash memory) or a processing unit issue. Well do you hear any beeps or something on the earpiece when turning it On/Off?.

I've posted the issue to the Samsung Support Team with the details, but I still need more info from your end so that I can do some more research and experiments.

While awaiting for the response from the Samsung Support Team, it'll be great if you could let me know details about the problem, how this happened etc... Thanks.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

How do I deregister my handsets on my VTech 2656

To be able to register your replacement handset, you must de-register all the handsets from the VT2656 base unit.

Follow the steps below to de-register your handset(s) from the VT2656 base:

1. Take out the handset that sits on the base.
2. Unplug power from the base.
3. Hold down PAGE while reconnecting power. When the In Use light blinks, release the PAGE key.
4. Hold down PAGE key for 5 seconds. When the In Use light begins to flash, release the PAGE key.
5. The handset charging light will blink 5 times. Within 5 seconds from when it stops blinking, press PAGE once.

You must register the handset(s) by following the steps below:

1. After charging the handset, remove it from the cradle, the LCD display will read "SEARCHING FOR BASE".
2. Press "NEW" and then enter the 15-digit Base ID code, located on the underside of the VT2656 base unit.
3. Press "OK". The handset will display "PLEASE WAIT!!".
4. Wait approximately 15 seconds. The handset will display "FOUND BASE". If the handset displays "BASE BUSY TRY LATER", this indicates that the system is in use. Wait until the base unit is in the idle (on hook) mode and repeat steps 2-4.

My ViewSonic VX900 won't turn on. I have had it since late 2003 and it has operated flawlessly. Went to turn it on; nothing. No light, no standby light. Checked the power cord against another monitor and...

Hello,

The VX900 has 2 different version of the unit. One version has an external power supply and the other has internal power supply. Since you said you changed the power cord I would guess you have the internal power supply version. The issue you have is caused by the capacitors on the power supply board have overheated and blown out. This is a common problem on many LCD monitors after a few years of use. If you open the back of your monitor and look at the supply board you should see the bulging capacitors. Check our web page at: www.ccl-la.com for Pictures and examples of what to look for and what you need to get to do the repair. If you have any questions let us know on our web site and we will be glad to help you get going again.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

Samsung 225bw display with NO VIDEO and flashing power button

Hello,

A flashing power light and no picture is a sure indication of a shorted power supply board. There are parts called capacitors that fail and this causes the power supply to continuously shut down and restart over and over, hence the power light flashing. If you can do a little soldering then you can repair the unit. Here is a link to a service guide showing how to dis-assemble the monitor and repair the power supply board.

VTech 5.8 mhz won't work

I found a solution that fixed this problem (at least for me). On the vtech site they said to unplug the base unit for at least 5 minutes. Previously, I had only unplugged the base unit for a few seconds. This time, I left it unplugged for about 10 minutes or so and when I plugged it back in, everything was working fine. Apparently there is some sort of capacitor that must discharge long enough to completely remove power from the circuitry.

Good luck and I hope this works for you!
