Suggested solution began with the words "Problem with Denon DN-3500." The "solution" didnt seem to fit with my problem on UCD-70.

Not really - but as luck would have it, the problem seems to have resolved itself.

Hello,

your is having a mechanism problem. Mechanism faults are hard and sometimes impossible to fix except a replacement is made. Also, I don't think there is a replacement part for UCD-70 mechanism.

So, what you will have to do now is to check any local repair shop within your vicinity, and ask if they have any bad UCD-70, so that you can remove its mechanism and replace it yours.

This is one of the remedy, there are still other remedies.

Good luck.

Remove the cover by removing the screws now you will see the tray you will see a small hole below the tray use a long thin needle and push it in the hole down the tray it will eject from the lock now pull the tray to full length now connect the power and open close the system manually the use the open/close button in some case the tray might get little tilted look for any bend try it softly this will help you to clear the tray fault also check whether the power to the is working with out power the CD tray doesn't work

Hi my problem is with the dvd tray it does not open . it make a funny noise but it does not open thx

OK I fixed it. One of the CD's had gotten stuck between trays in the loader. I pulled out a few CD's by forcing open the trays gently. However even after removing as many cd's as possible one was still stuck. 1. Remove screws holding cover plate on in back and sides. 2. Remove cover. 3. Lift face plate latches and lift over top of unit. Remove serial cables from connectors on board. Take face plate and place aside. Remove screws from back of CD tray unit and bend back metal tab with flathead screwdriver. Lift CD unit up on one side so you can get your fingers up inside underneath and push stuck cd towards tray openings. You can gently force top few trays out. You may need to shake unit so that stuck cd reaches open end. Pull out CD. 4. Replace faceplate and connect serial cables. Plug in power cord, power on unit and make sure trays will eject normally. 5. Put it all back together!

UCD 110 - Doesn't recognise every CD and will only play some CDs. I've tried cleaning the player with a CD Cleaning disc but to no effect.

I've had the same problem with a denon ucd 70,had the laser replaced and still the problem remained. Finally it appeared that a little wheel which moves the laser over the disk was broken and therefore the entire system finally couldn't read any cd anymore It started with some cd's however.
Still looking for a replacement wheel and fear that I have to buy a full new laser unit

Dvd rom will not work

The cover is warped. There needs to be just the right tension on the arm that lifts the eye of the drive to read disks properly try pushing down on the cover when you have it apart. So that you bend it alittle.

The tray will not open and cover on front came off

Try to locate an authorized dealer closest to you & if still under warranty it should get replaced free of cost, except for the cover. If not under warranty now look up in the net for the nearest Authorized service center and contact them via telephone first and foloow their advice. The tray & the cd/dvd drive may require to be replaced..............sodeep

75 ohm antenna connection ''disappeared''

My antenna connector came off as well. After removing the two screw fron the back (on top), open the CD cover and remove the large screw at the front of the compartment. Now flip the unit over with the front of unit toward you. Insert a small flat screw driver between the cover and the botom on either side. There are two large tabs (either side) on the botom. pry away and up. Flip over and remove the cover. Careful of the ribbon cable inside, it is long enough to lift and flip the cover.

Tray won't open, no buttons work

Return it. do not open it up or you will void any warranty. There is either a disconnected cable or a logic/power problem. In any case, a new piece should work out of the box.

Disk Stuck In DVD Machine.

Hi, You need to open the machine or at least the top cover and manually extract the CD. Under the cover and on top of the loading tray is a retaining bar held by 2-4 screws. Removing these would allow you to lift the bar and remove the CD easily. In some models/version, there might be an electronic board partially covering the tray assembly. This type of problem happens when the CD is defective, was not loaded properly, or more than 1 is inside. In some cases, it is the loading mechanism that is at fault. Still in some other models/version there is an access/pin hole below the try at the faceplate where you need to insert a straightened metal paper clip to manually push out the tray. Of course the standard precautions apply, power down, remove from the mains. If you are not comfortable on do-it-yourself, maybe you should seek the services of a qualified professional. good luck and kind regards.

Just asking.

I have the same problem. If you hear the motor opening, gently lift the tray at the appropriate time. It works for me.
