I assume you mean locked by software. Have a look at any security software sunning as some of these can lock a drive. I have found this under Vista on some of the newer machines.

My pen drive has become write protected and now I want to remove write protection from my pen drive, please help me.

Hi Sir.
Please look carefully at your usb pen-drive to see if there is a small switch on there somewhere that is used to lock and unlock the drive. perhaps you may have accidentally put it in the lock position.
If there is a laser pointer on the drive then using the laser pointer may have caused you to accidentally switch to the write protected mode. most drives have a lock/unlock switch on the pen-drive itself...unless it has a program installed on the drive that has encrypted and locked the drives read/write ability. Please let me know if you have success.
Thank you!

if you have any discs in the dvd remove them... it should boot to the hard drive when it doesn't find anything in the dvd. if you need to install an operating system put that disc in the dvd and boot from it. during the installation it will start to run off the hard drive. when you are done installing remove the installation disc.

I have bought HP 8 GB Pendrive from Ebay.in before 8 days But it is not working Now It shows error that pendrive is Read only What is the solution?

What is the model of your HP Pen Drive?

Is there any small slider switch on the pen drive? usually there is one on the SD memory cards to lock and unlock it. If the switch is in locked position then the memory card/pen drive will be read only and if it is in unlocked mode then you can write to it.

In case there is no switch on the pen drive, then try formatting it and check if you can format this drive or not? You may also try accessing/formatting the drive from some other computer.

Optical Drive Device Locked Acer e lock activated. I cannot use my Cd drive.

Acer eLock Management
Acer eLock Management is a security utility that allows you to lock your removable data, optical and floppy
drives to ensure that data cannot be stolen while your notebook is unattended.

Removable data devices - includes USB disk drives, USB pen drives, USB flash drives, USB MP3 drives,
USB memory card readers, IEEE 1394 disk drives and any other removable disk drives that can be
mounted as a file system when plugged into the system.

Optical drive devices - includes any kind of CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives.
Floppy disk drives - 3.5-inch disks only.
Interfaces - includes serial ports, parallel port, infrared (IR), and Bluetooth.
To activate Acer eLock Management, a password must be set first. Once set, you can apply locks to any of the
devices. Lock(s) will immediately be set without any reboot necessary, and will remain locked after rebooting,
until unlocked.

You can try this:

You can reset the system to its default settings (all devices unlocked) by removing the password (leave the password fields blank when changing the password).

You also may be able to simply uninstall the e-lock software in add remove programs.

Is there an icon in your system tray that may allow you to disable e-lock?

Sounds like it's fried. Pen drive sometimes go bad, especially is they are pulled out of a machine without stopping it first. Not much you can do, sorry.
